Confused here a bit. What is better posting to multiple categories or only one per post? How many categories overall are the best for the whole blog in general?

i do like this.,

sitename.com/category/postname.html

i do it by 2 methods.,
1. i have 400 keywords., separate category for each keyword.,

or

2. i have 400 keywords, i choose 5-10 main keywords and create those categories and the posts goes randomly in any of them.

I basicaly do the same.

I'm still trying to decide whether to go

make 2 blogs with the exact same content/posts and make one /category/post and the other one /post and see wich one does best

/post uses more resources, so if you hae high traffic, make sure to be careful when doing this.

a patch has been made to the core for 3.3 release to fix this issue though.
