Actor Joseph Son, who played Random Task in the 1997 film "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery," is the prime suspect in the murder of his prison cellmate. As Random Task, one of Dr. Evil's henchmen, Son parodied the James Bond character Odd Job - one of the most legendary and deadliest of Bond villains. Austin Powers told Random Task in the film, "You fight like a woman." But apparently, Son fights like a criminal.
Son, 40, has been serving time at Wasco State Prison in Kern County, CA on conviction of rape. His 50-year-old cellmate, whose name has not yet been released, was found dead in his cell on the evening of October 10. Prison officials have yet to release the circumstances surrounding the murder. An investigation is underway.
In September, Son was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 1990 Christmas Eve gang rape of a SoCal woman. He repeatedly raped and sodomized the victim while pistol-whipping her and threatening to kill her. Son was transferred from an OC jail to Wasco State Prison on September 16.
