That's not debunking. I mean, I agree with a few of the points he made - but they weren't all facts. A lot of what he said was opinion.

To debunk something you have to actually have to prove how it's wrong. Not point out a mostly relative event in history that correlates to your point.

He wants to make a point about global warming, he wants to debunk that global warming is caused by (insert something here). So, he takes a relevant point about history to coincide with his point. He says that "Look! As we've gone through history there are less pirates in the world while the average global temperature has increased. Therefore global warming is caused by having less pirates".

He doesn't actually debunk a damn thing. He just gives you a relevant piece of information that coincides with his side and opinion.

Come on man, this isn't rocket science to understand. Don't be so fucking gullible.

The pirates and global warming graph is an excellent illustration of a very common tactic. Combined with picking dates for comparison carefully and using words like "stagnated" to imply something went bad when it fact it didn't change at all, someone can make it look like the economic problems are caused by raisins.

One has to apply some common sense and ask themselves "is spending twice as much as you take in most likely going to improve your situation, or make you go bankrupt?" Simple common sense thinking cuts through the charts comparing unemployment in 1964 to the color of shoes and other irrelevant BS.

Just like the use of the 70% top tax rate is bogus. The loop holes available to the top tier are all gone for the most part.
They also conveniently leave out the fact that the bottom contributed back then too. There was none of this bottom 50% paying no income tax nonsense.

We citizens didn't do any of that shit. It's the politicians in Washington D.C. that are responsible. Not me, not you, not "rich" people, and not even corporations (the current scapegoat). It was congressmen and Senators who have been setting the table for decades now.

Bush? Obama? LOL! Senators and Congressmen who are career politicians don't even give them a second thought. Remember....Congress made sure to place term limits on Presidents after Roosevelt. But there are NO term limits for Congress and The Senate.

The same crooks are running the show now in the Senate and Congress that ran it during Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2, and now Obama. Well, except the ones who died of old age.
