That's not debunking. I mean, I agree with a few of the points he made - but they weren't all facts. A lot of what he said was opinion.
To debunk something you have to actually have to prove how it's wrong. Not point out a mostly relative event in history that correlates to your point. Here, this is basically what he does. Ok, this is EXACTLY what he does. http://statfail.com/wp-content/uploa...pirates_gw.png He wants to make a point about global warming, he wants to debunk that global warming is caused by (insert something here). So, he takes a relevant point about history to coincide with his point. He says that "Look! As we've gone through history there are less pirates in the world while the average global temperature has increased. Therefore global warming is caused by having less pirates". He doesn't actually debunk a damn thing. He just gives you a relevant piece of information that coincides with his side and opinion. Come on man, this isn't rocket science to understand. Don't be so fucking gullible. |

One has to apply some common sense and ask themselves "is spending twice as much as you take in most likely going to improve your situation, or make you go bankrupt?" Simple common sense thinking cuts through the charts comparing unemployment in 1964 to the color of shoes and other irrelevant BS. |

Just like the use of the 70% top tax rate is bogus. The loop holes available to the top tier are all gone for the most part. They also conveniently leave out the fact that the bottom contributed back then too. There was none of this bottom 50% paying no income tax nonsense. |

Actually you can research the OP's video and confirm everything.
Why does everyone believe the GOP who just wants to protect the top 1% ??? Anyway, I'm Canadian so I'm a full of shit communist... :D |

GW Bush cut taxes on the rich. Supposedly this creates jobs. Why is unemployment 9.1%? Where are the jobs? |

capitalism works - for the rich.
For the those with capital, other wise it would be called workerism . |

It's ok to be bitter about your failures but to pretend it's capitalism's fault is silly. You simply didn't make good decisions nor did you work hard enough |

There's a simple solution - raise the taxes on everyone - we started these wars, we dug ourselves into this economic shithole, we all have to pay for it. Then you right wingers can stop your pathetic whining about how poor people dont pay income taxes. |
So, does anyone have criticisms of the actual points Reich makes?
Instead of this lameass partisan propaganda exchange? I know we cant expect the right to actually discuss ideas, but if we hear their fox news narratives, it might be interesting to look at the numbers and see if there's any truth to them. |

I'm all for ALL of us paying taxes. Then scum like you, who pay almost nothing, just might stop voting for every idiot spending bill that comes down the pike, knowing it will cost YOU more and not just your betters. |

The U.S. govt. has done all this stupid shit in it's grab for power. Occupying a couple of hundred countries world wide with troops (still occupying Japan and Germany almost 70 years after WW2) We citizens didn't do any of that shit. It's the politicians in Washington D.C. that are responsible. Not me, not you, not "rich" people, and not even corporations (the current scapegoat). It was congressmen and Senators who have been setting the table for decades now. Bush? Obama? LOL! Senators and Congressmen who are career politicians don't even give them a second thought. Remember....Congress made sure to place term limits on Presidents after Roosevelt. But there are NO term limits for Congress and The Senate. The same crooks are running the show now in the Senate and Congress that ran it during Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2, and now Obama. Well, except the ones who died of old age. We need to VOTE THEM ALL OUT. One term and DONE. |
