Selling mainstream classified listings that people will actually pay for?
 

Hi

I know in adult you can sell escort ads, but in mainstream no one really pays to put up classified listings, or maybe I missed a niche where people are willing to pay to put up an ad, any ideas?

Used Car dealers do and so do some private car sellers if you have enough traffic on the site but there is huge competion with the big and established auto trader sites as I found out with my car sales site which i am now trying to sell. IF you can get a car site going well you can also sell advertising space to car insurance groups, windscreen repair sites and the list goes on.

You are welcome to make me an offer on my car classifed site but its not easy. The other thing I was going to do with it was to link it up to an ebay used car part site but i just never got round to it either. A site like this http://www.pistonheads.com/ makes some real good money but they have been around for awhile and push a lot of traffic with regular car news updates all the time. I think with mainstream classifieds you really need a niche just like adult.

Yep so does gumtree and a lot of other free classified sites but they do all offer a paid ad listing service as well

i normally upgrade my listing to a paid listing
