Free soloing, sheer rock face climbing on 60 minutes.
 

Guys that do free climbing without safety ropes amaze the hell out of me. About to start on 60 minutes.

Yeah I'm really in to rock climbing these days, and we have World class climbing 100KM North of Vancouver in Squamish. We TRAD climb, that is use ropes and put our own gear in the rock as we go along. We're pretty careful about the protection though.

I can't believe people that free solo though, it almost always works out tragically on a long enough timeline. I mean think about walking. You can probably do that pretty good right? Been doing it every day since around about a year old. Ever trip or stumble, even once?

It's pretty much just reckless but I still wish I could climb as good as those guys.

I can't even imagine myself doing it with ropes. In fact I know I couldn't. My hat's off to you.

Parts more than a 90 degree angle, rocks covered with mist from a nearby waterfall, thousands of feet up, most of his weight on 4 fingers, in the wind ..... calmly whistling to himself.

my mate from school had a rock climbing accident

fell about 30-40 feet and put both his lower leg bones straight thru his ankles

most horrible fucked up shit I have ever had to be a part of

10 years later he has had to have his ankles fused so every step is really painful
