While it's nice to see the Cowboys lose (hated division rival), I wish I had something to be happy about.
As an Eagles fan for as long as I can remember, I'm used to them blowing games in the fourth quarter, and always coming up short. I remember as a kid, during the Randall Cunningham days, watching the games with my dad, and seeing the Eagles almost always find a way to blow a victory. So while it's nothing new, this year hurts even worse...
Each year I find new hope that the team may finally be successful. Each year I'm let down, but at least in recent years, it hasn't been completely depressing. But with all the big off-season moves, this was the last Eagles line-up I would have expecting to blow a 20 point lead in the fourth quarter. In fact, this is the third straight game the Eagles have blown a fourth quarter lead. The offense hasn't seemed as potent as it should be either.
We're only four games into the season, and I keep hoping that Philadelphia can turn it around. I want to believe they can, and I do believe they have the talent to do it. But somehow, I feel like I'm watching the old Eagles...the Eagles I grew up with, just on a grander scale. :anon
But, at this point, I'm still reluctantly standing by my thread I made a few months ago that the Eagles will win the SuperBowl this year (I may backpeddle in a few weeks :winkwink:). As frustrating as watching them is, I'll always root for the Eagles.
