I worked at Valvoline when I was a teenager and I can tell you that there was a lot of times when people working there wouldn't even change the oil filter especially when their was a skid plate that was hard to remove.

When Pornstars spend the weekend with me... I make lemon-aid and pull up a lawn chair then watch them figure it out.

Mr Pheer 10-02-2011 03:53 AM

I got the maintenance plan when I bought my truck so I dont pay for anything.

I like to do it myself, except in the winter months, forget that. I don't have a heated garage, so I take it to the local shop. I use synthetic so I can go longer in between changes, it costs $32.00 for the oil and filter change. Then I can go 6k miles or 6 months until another change.

leg4 10-02-2011 03:57 AM

About $28

L-Pink 10-02-2011 04:06 AM

I have the oil changed every six months or 5,000 miles which ever comes first. I have it changed at the same place every time and this time the cost was approximately 30% higher than it was six months ago. I was told that is because the price of oil has gone up.

I am not concerned about the cost...but a 30% increase in just six months seems to me to be on the high side.

Itchy 10-02-2011 09:32 AM

$30.00 :)

Who fucking cares?

CYF 10-02-2011 01:57 PM

about $25 bucks for 8 quarts of oil and a filter, and about 20 minutes of my time.

thickcash_amo 10-02-2011 02:07 PM

Damn that Jiffy Lube scam pisses me off! I always wonder if those places really do what they say they are going to do!

Jakez 10-02-2011 02:55 PM

Unfortunately it costs about the same whether you have it done or do it yourself. The benefit of doing it yourself is that you know it's been done and been done right. I never trust the assholes at a shop to touch my car.

SomeCreep 10-02-2011 02:58 PM

25 bucks

CaptonNemo 10-02-2011 03:24 PM

Motul 5L — 65$
Oil filter — 8$
work — 10$
