Saw The Googlemobile Today
 

The Google Maps mobile I mean - neat. I'd never seen it before. I don't know if they run around updating everywhere or somewhere all the time, but it's about time - our city is over five years old on Google Maps.

Does anyone know about their refresh - like when they update the content on Maps?

I'm not even sure if it was shooting - it was going at a good clip; I imagined to keep their resolution choice they'd be kinda puttering along...

I don't know, but maybe you'll be up on street view!

I think it takes awhile, my daughter saw it a month ago or so on our street but still has the old street view from like 3years ago.

just imagine if the gov had google!

That's just the two, showing I spotted it, and followed it down the street - nobody else was turning or noticing...

I thought I waved at it, pretty sure, but maybe they cut those things out, or omitted it because I was holding a cigarette in my waving hand...

Seen it twice and I guess each time they were not filming.

I've seen the Google mapping car twice in our local area.

But when I checked streetview - I wasn't visible either time in those locations. (shrug)

I'm on Google maps. Saw the car running around, flipped a u-turn, and followed it for a few blocks.

The house on the other side of the street is where Helen Mirren grew up - It even has a little plaque on it.....

That's pretty cool really...

On the UK one, they must have gone past my Mums house twice, cause if you come 'Up The Road' - She is the first house - You just see an empty garden.

But if you come from 'around the corner' theres a taxi in the driveway about to leave, and my Mum disappearing through the front door :)

It used to be dated as 2007 - Certain places have Xmas decorations up, but its still the same shot - It just now says 2011 - Guess thats the update?

Google recording all streets is miles a head competition!

they need to drive those cars through downtown Vegas more with all the changes happening recently. the map & street view still shows buildings that have long ago been demolished and replaced with new ones. :2 cents:

We have a new mega hospital that shows up on Google Earth when you zoom in...but disappears and reverts back to a brown farmer's field when you slightly zoom out.

My old car is on Google Earth as it passed my house. I felt so.. immortalized.
