DMCA and Cloudflare?
 

Eric have you had any experience with this, do they hand over the sites real ownership, as in real location of the host.

since they are cloud dns.

a bunch of us jumped on them about 3 months back. Their whole policy was to blow smoke up our rear ends and give out nothing but excuses.

They replied to one DMCA I sent out with... sorry, that site is not hosted here... it is hosted on 174.25. blah blah blah... I contacted that host... and they denied hosting as well. They play BS games.

Someone please call an air strike on those cock suckers.

Well, that was the end of it. I don't know if you caught it when on Al's mainland China thread over on foogie I posted a screen shot of asianwench's face on webcam, but since that moment he has disappeared... oddly enough so did the screen shot from the post. I asked Al why... no answer. Kinda makes you wonder... who is that dip shit for real when the screen shot gets deleted from the post by the admin and then Al refuses to answer as to why.

But yah, ever since he found out I have pictures of his face when I posted it on foogie... poof, he vanished into thin air never to speak to me since. Probably because the same yahoo account he used to accidentally send me his face on web cam was the same ID he was using to communicate with those chicks he was buying the kiddie porn from in the Phils. He turned it on to flip me his middle finger. I kept fucking with his head telling him he needs to send the cam again because I was getting nothing so whatever it was he wanted me to see, I was not getting it... it worked and he believed me and moved his cam to his face for a few minutes... then he shut it off realizing I might actually be seeing him anyway. Ooops!

Well for people only paying $20 a month to avoid dmca's its worth it for them, sad really

It just slows you down, you can still see where it comes from, just takes you a couple extra emails.

they provide cloud dns services, so you are using their ip on their cloudflare servers, not the real ip of your actual server.

some people have told me they dont cooperate very much with giving the true ip and information out.

They cooperate just fine when proper DMCA's are filed through them. The only problem is as DWB said... because (like you already said) cloudflare is a cdn style proxy and actually serve a much larger purpose than "helping" thieves get away with theft.

At the end of the day, yes we all had to jump through an extra hoop or 2 when dealing with the asianwench site... but it still got done. Cloudflare wasn't the problem as they gave us all the pertinent information after a single email. It's the actual host that gives you problems once you contact them.

Cloudflare isn't the problem though.. yes, maybe a little more inconvenient but they certainly don't prevent you from dealing with copyright infringement complaints.
