Have you switched to Ruby (or Ruby on Rails)? We've had these discussion threads on GFY in the past but a lot can happen in 2 or 3 years. How do you feel about Ruby and Ruby on Rails in September 2011? I'm mostly experienced in php, and as far as frameworks go I leaned toward CodeIgniter in the past. I have recently found an appreciation for Ruby with or without Rails. |

No way. I wouldn't touch it. Rails is nice but kind of an over-hyped buzzword. I've been doing more in Python lately and have been using Django some as well. You should check it out. Python is such a pretty language. |

I'm still learning PHP, will tell you what I think of Ruby in 5 years from now :-) |

Check out Scala and it's frame work Lift if you want the big leagues. Twitter has switched most of it's core code to it from RoR. |

I use a text editor with good indent guides when I write Python and I feel like I have found coding nirvana. |
