Tube-script with videos that mobiles can play?
 

I need a tube-script that will spit out videos that Android and iPhone can play?
I tried with some TubeX sites but my phone cant play their shit.

Know any?

Look for a tube script that doesn't use flash. That's the only way it is going to play on apple's garbage. Android phones can play flash assuming they have the flash player installed.

STP has lots of default transcoders build in.. including mobile devices..

You don't have to choose.

The best solution is to build a wrapper around your player that detects your platform and spits the content in the right format for you. We are moving towards that solution with our promo videos, so spent some time studying the topic.

The downside is that if you need to allow embeds of your content you'll have to use an iFrame instead of an Object solution. However, iframes are pretty much flawless nowadays and the big mainstream tubes are going into that direction. DailyMotion already has embeds with iframes only, to serve mobile content well. YouTube will do the same in the next version of their embed (their current iframe solution is deeemed "beta of the next embed).

I've been working on my own tube script for over a year now. Mine encodes everything to h.264 in a .mp4 container and uses bitrate switching to provide the best experience to everyone.

I don't use flash...ever.

STP :D bottom line you need a script that just avoids flash as previously mentioned OR program in your own SMS detection and have it a raw download :D

Mechbunny can do it and play on both android and ipad/iphone/ipod, however try adding the mime-type for mp4 to your httpd. It might not be the fault of the encoding at all.

Try writing your own and see how much work it takes to do it right. I've been working on mine for over a year now--maybe 8-10 hours per week--and am not anywhere close to having a script that is anything like mechbunny. If I were to ever sell mine it would cost at least twice what mechbunny costs.

Just because you don't have room in your budget for a quality script doesn't make it unreasonable (or "loool" as you put it).

if you think of it as a real business... how much do you think renting an office would cost you? I really don't know what are the differences that make for the different prices, but I'm pretty sure they're worth it in one way or another. Anyway, if the main part of your business is that big of an issue, maybe you should rethink your business model :2 cents:

I'm pretty sure TEVS can do this.

With TEVS Open you could have a programmer make a small addon to encode videos into MP4 format. Then 1 line of code to check if the device is a Iphone or Android then play the flash if android (which plays mp4 files) or a link to the mp4 which will play on the iphone player.

I was being superficial. Saw the price and the demo only :error, checked the feature list now and I still think it costs a lot of money, but definitely worth it! :)
