FYI: sony nex fs100

sounds like an interesting camera... beautiful look etc.. so I checked around with my sources in the biz.. .

1.) the glass from a dslr with not really track auto fucos on a video camera. the nexfs100 is designed for scripted single shot work

2.) the Nexis is being used by ENG guys and some film guys BUT they are getting an adapter and magnifier to use with HQ video glass. this allows the nexfs100 to track with auto focus np.

3.) 35K and change

my production work flow won't really allow for single cam, scripted shots :(

I usually work with 2 or 3 matching video cameras, so it's a big decision whenever I switch cameras - I'm still using Sony HVR-1VU cameras here, although I've tested a few solid state cameras, and can't wait to make the transition.

I'm still sitting out 3D, because the 3D cams I am looking at start at around $20k (times 3 = $60k minimum), and standardization and widespread acceptance is still a few years away (although I'm planning to get an economical 3D camera just to start playing around with it).

Have you been shooting video on DSLR yet? I've only done a little experimenting.

Vincent LaForet is my hero... :)

i'll post some videos once we have gained a little more experience

Ive been playing with shooting video with my 60d . The video is wow but if it isnt scripted and marked like a motion picture.. i can see it be hard to do. My two girls on a bed go for it and just focus on getting off and i will find the shot style wont work. Also with my old eyes my manual focus is on the money about 70 percent of the time. Lol not high enough to trust if im paying people.

I'm not usually a big fan of Christmas, but this year I will be getting one of these from my school and it should arrive just before the holiday.

Can't fucking wait.

This is a camera designed for filmmakers.
