SEO link juice loss in serps question
Do you think you will lose your ranking on an up and coming site if you link out to competitor site for the keyword your trying to rank on?
I had a site crawing up google ranks for say keyword "sexy porn". Not a ton of incoming links but like 12 or so. The site was moving in SERPS for "sexy porn" to like page 4 or so. Then, doing an ABC trade I linked out to a competitor site tagged "sexy porn". My site went down in the rankings after. Do you think I gave him juice and took away my own? |
no it wont hurt. 12 is a good number for a new site. usually the best thing to do is add more quality content to the site as it moves up and slowly gradually add more inbounds as you add. You might want to put up a new page and get a few inbounds to that new page. that can also help. but do it at random. one outbound link is fine. your allowed to link to other quality sites. if its duplicate content then I would be concerned. still trying to figure out the panda. If you added an outbound and saw your rank drop it could one of 20 other reasons. with google it's not always that cut and dry. thats my opinion.

It probably is nothing but I'm going to terminate the trade and offer the guy a link from some other sites. |
I remember when I linked into Al4a back in the day and became #3 for his sites name... got me link 2000 a day instant traffic from SE's...
Wouldn't do it though for something more generic like teen tgp. |

highly doubtful, if anything if their site was relevant it would have helped. cant explain the result :/ may have been something else.
