Looking for software to administer a web hosting business. Please help!
 

Anybody know of good software to manage a web hosting business? I need to track clients contact info, domain, user names and passwords, billing info, etc. Everything you can think of, all suggestions welcomed!

I suppose you are looking for a unix based software. Major server panels are Plesk, Ensim, Cpanel and H-Sphere. (There also new panels like HostGUI)

The most popular software is cpanel. It is definitely good and helps you with many server related tasks. It also has some clustering features.
External licence is a bit expensive - usually above $50/mo, but you can find a datacenter which offers internal licence for $20 (DedicatedNow, Nocster)

You may also want to get a billing software like modernbill - to automate invoicing, recurrent billing, account creation and domain registration.

Well, everything depends on your needs... it might even make sence to go without any control panel at all or develop your own if you work in a specific nishe like static content hosting.
