You mean to tell me the US didn't make it on the list??! :1orglaugh

BIGTYMER 09-06-2011 03:10 AM

Damn Aussies and Canucks.

Mutt 09-06-2011 03:14 AM

well 'free' healthcare and other socialist welfare programs are definitely heavily factored in.

it's not exactly an objective list, you'll notice that there's only two non-English speaking cities ranked.

top US city ranked was Honolulu at 26 and then Pittsburgh at 29.

drmadcat 09-06-2011 03:17 AM

they say that and when you live here it feels like your 10 years behind everyone else

The Victorian 09-06-2011 03:36 AM

Perhaps Calcutta. Prior to the ghastly Great Rebellion of course.

I can't argue with that list, although I hope everyone includes the San Francisco Bay Area on their list of places to visit. We're not perfect, but we're pretty unique. :)

Anyway, I absolutely love Vancouver, and Australia and New Zealand are high up on my list of places to visit someday (are there any large adult shows held down under?).

Sid70 09-06-2011 03:57 AM

I vote for Hawaii, Canada is too cold, Australia is too far away.

My Pimp 09-06-2011 04:55 AM

mafia_man 09-06-2011 06:43 AM

I'd give my left nut to live in Vancouver.

drmadcat 09-06-2011 06:47 AM

its just bullshit about Australia been on the list they must have never lived here

bronco67 09-06-2011 06:54 AM

After visiting Vancouver recently, I'd put it at the top of my list of cities I'd like to move to. It even beats San Diego.

happy living at equal #8 here!

MetaMan 09-06-2011 07:15 AM

Vancouver has turned into an absolute shit hole. It used to be such a beautiful city. Now it is over run by immigrants and bums. Seriously the city has gone to shit was there 1 month ago.

JamesGw 09-06-2011 07:22 AM

I've been to a fair number of cities and have to say that the US is my favorite place. Primarily because grocery shopping is easier ;p

Really narrowed it down there.

Because Houston and Seattle are the same :Oh crap

Rochard 09-06-2011 08:59 AM

That's some fucking bullshit right there. Recently there was another poll like this and it listed some city in Colorado as the best city in the US. Bullshit. It snows there. Any where it snows cannot be "the best". Snow sucks.

RebelR 09-06-2011 09:01 AM

I'd say that for Toronto and Calgary, they took that survey in June.. and not in January, when people forget about the bitter cold. We Canadians only remember the last 3 months worth of weather.

Caligari 09-06-2011 09:09 AM

Don't know about Vancouver now, but in the 90's, early 2000's it was great.

But how the hell is Pittsburgh is even on that list? Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, New Orleans all far superior.

Markul 09-06-2011 09:10 AM

Helsinki? really? lol

Sly 09-06-2011 09:37 AM

Half of that list is cold as shit. I will pass.

Why 09-06-2011 10:45 AM

Vienna is an awesome city, its very livable.
Vancouver.... great city but almost as rainy as seattle and more crackheads passed out in alleyways or smoking dope in doorsteps then all the cities ive been to put together!

nikki99 09-06-2011 12:21 PM

Buenos Aires not in the list?

Traffic Guru 09-06-2011 12:22 PM

Detroit is not on the list?

WarChild 09-06-2011 12:28 PM

You have to remember that safety factors highly in to the calculation. Being as the United States has such a gun culture, you can expect US cities to not rank high.

The Vancouver riot happened too late to be considered in this year's rankings but will most certainly be a factor in the next rankings.

Nydahl 09-06-2011 12:31 PM

wonder what is the ranking of the shithole I live in :pimp

lol @ Americans trying to rationalize why the US isn't at the top of the list.

Gun culture? That's all you have? What about horrible health care system/hostility towards one another/horrible education system/no jobs/crumbling economy/no sense of community/rampant racism/online poker banned (:P).

The US is a shit hole.

So much potential though, but still, shit hole.

donkevlar 09-06-2011 01:00 PM

They haven't taken into account that there are tons of ... Australian people there. ;)

I'll settle for #3.

The list appears to be complete bullshit. Just like every other list that has ever been created.

I've never been to Melbourne or Vienna, but I sure as hell would not want to live in Vancouver or Calgary. Or Toronto, for that matter. But I'm stuck here...

Listening to politicians (from all parties) spewing their self-serving, inbred, borderline-retarded jibber-jabber for almost 40 years has pretty well killed off any enthusiasm I have for Canada. I would die for this country, but not because the shitheels who run it asked me to.

I edited a lot of stuff out - don't want anyone knocking on my door tonight...

I'm not really allowed to own guns here in Canada. I know I can get them by the bucketload if I fill out the right papers, but I'm not comfortable with them and there's too many rules and regulations.

Back in the day, my uncle used to drive around with four rifles arranged in a lovely gunrack mounted on the back window of his pickup truck. That was in Small Town, Ontario (ok, Campbellford...). I'm sure the pussy sniffing Liberals have changed the rules over the last twenty-thirty years, but he never had a problem.

In the city, dogs work just as well as a deterrent. The more dogs, the better.

Even though we're liberal socialist commies, we still have about 30 firearms per 100 people. What that means is that every single person outside of a major urban centre is armed to the fucking teeth.

I have no idea what the fuck I'm rambling on about, but that Submit Reply button is so fucking tempting...

Gonzodave 09-06-2011 03:43 PM

Melbourne "WTF" - I grew up there and shifted out 25 years ago!

EddyTheDog 09-06-2011 03:48 PM

I have lived in 5 out of the 10.....

Adelaide - Are they joking?

New Zealand is amazing, but Auckland is not much cop on its own.

I would add Valencia to the list.....
