What is a Content Delivery Network?

A content delivery network (CDN) is a system of computers containing copies of data placed at various nodes of a network. A CDN can improve access to the data it caches by increasing access bandwidth and redundancy and reducing access latency. Data content types often cached in CDNs include web objects, downloadable objects (media files, software, documents), applications, live streaming media, and database queries.

Without quality content; CDNs will just make the bounce rate faster ;=)

sort of reads like "if you have a stomache ache, cut off your hand. you won't notice your tummy any more".

very few sites in adult load so slowly as to have a bounce rate issue. google speed testing mine (including blogs) shows speeds of 91-98/100. adding a cdn isnt going to change my bounce rate one iota.

Congrats to your new website .

adult sites are fast enough, thats not the problem. Experiment with the webmaster tools to decrease bounce rate.

.

Not making fun of anyone but this line is just funny as hell to me...

I added some javascript to my page, and immediately bounce rates dropped 50% (from 75% to 25%), due to errors in the way bounce rate is calculated.

Bounce rate has more to do with:

1. Quality content that makes people click for more.
2. Having tantalizing things to click on your pages.
3. Website depth.
4. Relevancy, if you can't convey relevancy pretty quickly a surfer will click away.

than how fast it is. Providing your site is run on a reasonable server, it will be delivered quickly enough for most of your visitors.

A CDN is not going to help your bounce rate significantly while attention to the above items will. So here we have yet another "I'll make everything better but have no possibility of solving the problem I purport to be able to solve" post by the OP.

Have you published a white paper proving that your client(s) have experienced lower bounce rates or are you just talking out of your arse?

Obviously, if it was true, you'd have facts and figures to prove it, and you would publish these. Clearly, you'd want to shout about it...

I am bringing our service to market. Yes it was just my OWN Guess thought that CDN would reduce bounce rate. So now i understand that CDN less help bounce rate but still does improve site speed for sure.

So you're trying to sell something and you really have no idea what it is?

Awesome.

Where do I send the money? Do you take epass?

AdultKing 09-04-2011 02:41 PM

Where are your servers located ? Nobody is going to buy from a CDN that doesn't show where servers are positioned.

Good idea to use CDN. There is no downside at all. Just extra 50-100$ a month
you keep or get 3 members and you brake even already.

Speed of content download is very important

AdultKing 09-05-2011 09:26 PM

Can your CDN decrease my bounce rate ?

I don't understand why google supposedly finds bounce rate so important?

I mean, these days with everybody using browsers with taps, you can have a site open for 30 minutes, but that does not mean I am actually on the site? How does google factor this?

FlowerKid 09-05-2011 09:49 PM

Many webmasters buy tools to slow down the sites for leechers. So it seems it's fast enough.
