Looks like I might have another pet
 

So my dachshund is out in my back yard barking away last night and I go out to see what's up. There on the other side of the fence is what looks to be a full bred male Pekingese. He's wearing a collar, looks to be completely healthy and clean, and by my best guess at least 5 or even 7 years old. Since I didn't want it running around in the night, or potentially getting my pets sick, and figured (hoped) he wasn't just dumped and got out by accident, I kept him on the porch with food, water and a bed. Had him checked out at the vet today and thankfully he's got a clean bill of health and it turns out he isn't microchipped unfortunately and is in fact about 7. Cataract in one eye though sadly. He gets along with both of my cats and dog. Put up flyers all around the neighborhood and in Craigslist about a lost dog and really hope to hear from someone. Pretty annoying though if someone just dumped this nice and well cared for dog after owning and caring him for several years.

Hope you find his people, but if you don't, I know he'll do great with you. :)

Thanks folks. Yeah I figure someone is either freaking out completely, or simply doesn't give a shit. The dog already acts like he lives here, is sacked out in my dining room right now and doesn't seem to miss anyone. My kid wants to name him already lol. Either way tho... he's getting a good home whether it be here or one of my friends. I really do hope I hear from someone in the neighborhood in the next week or so!

Hopefully somebody will own up to him,most people would dump it at the pound

Hollywood ending here... found a home for the little guy. A neighbor of friends of ours has a Pekingese and wanted to take him. The dogs became fast friends this morning. And still no response from any of the fliers or found dog ads.

Aww that is soo wonderful that you were willing to take him in!

I don't do dogs. Exotics are the way to go.
