History Channel: Humans Genetically Designed to Mine for Gold?

This is from the History Channel Documentary:- Ancient Aliens - Aliens and Temples of Gold

The ancient Sumerian culture believed that Humans were genetically designed (by ET) to mine for Gold. It is suggested that Gold could be very important to ET having many important uses. Some people believe this is the reason we're here (or the original reason); we've been designed to get the gold out of the planet.

Imagine if they are right and that is really the meaning of our existence and the reason behind our desire and love for gold

porno jew 08-25-2011 05:20 PM

reality is perfect, beautiful and breathtaking.

yes, that humans whose vision and consciousness is dull and blinkered have always tried to find that original perception in certain objects is true.

make of that what you will.

Joxxy 08-25-2011 05:29 PM

You see Mishter Powers. I love goooooooold.

Sly 08-25-2011 05:30 PM

I wake up every morning longing for gold.

Mmm.

Gold.

garce 08-25-2011 05:31 PM

Humans are stupid. We highly value shiny things, and crap that sparkles.

Poindexterity 08-25-2011 06:56 PM

ive had this theory since i was about 19.

Choker 08-25-2011 06:58 PM

Old news. Sumerians believed this theory 5000 years ago

Brujah 08-25-2011 07:09 PM

Wasn't that the plot to Battlefield Earth?

L-Pink 08-25-2011 07:12 PM

That was on The History Channel? I thought that channel only has shows about pawn shops and Nazis.

hummmmm.... since gold and other heavy metals are from 'meteor strikes' when the earth was being formed... wouldn't it be easier to get the damn gold at the source instead of fucking around trying to make smart monkeys to dig the shit up??? ... just sayin is all...

My thoughts exactly

Far-L 08-25-2011 07:43 PM

Human Race, I am your alien leader. You will do as I say. Bring all your gold to me.

I am not kidding...

gold and all the heavier elements past iron are produced during a supernova and have nothing to do with meteor strikes. It is the only way in the universe these heavier elements can be formed.

No, lets wait millions of years when a robot could do it in 100. Gold is the color of the sun and doesn't rust or degrade. We like it because it is permanent and beautiful, the very antithesis of death.

When did death become temporary, and why wasn't I informed?

Phoenix 08-25-2011 09:06 PM

That's what all the shows I have watched said, that supernova create all the heavy elements. We too are from supernova.

fm1234 08-25-2011 09:33 PM

Complete nonsense. The factors that go into meaningful levels of interstellar exploration -- not just the physics and engineering, but economic and sociological as well, all but dictate that a culture capable of such a feat (assuming any exist at all) is no longer suffering from the problems inherent to scarcity. That such a culture would a) be bound in its capacities by the need for a particular non-synthesisable material, b) not have figured out how to harvest said material from a more extraction-friendly environment, and c) not be able to work out a more efficient and efficacious way to produce the material than slave/livestock labour, is just wacky; and the idea that we humans are the product of some essential part of our space fathers' grand design is just typical of the importance that many humans erroneously attach to humanity.

while i do see your point, i kinda see it the other way.

the fact that we're just the waste product from an emergency mining expedition makes us SO MUCH LESS important and special, and actually makes our mere being on this planet kinda detrimental to said planet.

moeloubani 08-25-2011 10:06 PM

why wouldnt they put robots that could do the work instead of humans that take 4 billion years just to mature to the point of even being able to understand that gold has value

because the whole premise is nonsense and features retards with little knowledge and even less ability to reason.

BIGTYMER 08-25-2011 10:26 PM

Nahh... We're only here to destroy the planet.

While it may seem counterintuitive, even this is just another spin on an old human pipe dream -- the Golden Age. Even if we were just disposable, souped-up monkeys doing our masters' bidding, we were part of Something Bigger Than Us.

The "ancient alien" dummies don't like to talk about it, but the fact is that believing that ancient myths can be explained by extraterrestrial intervention in human history requires a leap of faith at least as high and broad as it does to just take the myths at face value.

Did you see Cowboys & Aliens? That is the reason the Aliens came to earth... to mine gold.

grumpy 08-26-2011 04:13 AM

hahahaha, 7 billion people and lets say one million of them are mining gold. Yeah, that alien plan worked great. LOL

there were many famous geneticists in ancient Sumeria with similar well founded opinions and conclusions based on their own bodies of research

CaptainHowdy 08-26-2011 05:40 AM

Stupid sumerians ...

sinclair 08-26-2011 06:58 AM

Love Ancient Aliens, of course it is soooo much better with bong rips

porno jew 08-26-2011 07:01 AM

your critical skills don't exist at all. it's like they were surgically removed by alien surgeons.

PR_Glen 08-26-2011 07:28 AM

would be silly to think they could figure out things such as inter stellar travel yet not have the capacity to do something stupidly simple in comparison as mine for specific elements...

makes for an interesting movie though.

asteroid and comet mining is the future, as soon as they find gold or anything else in need up there we will go after it. It's what brought us to explore in the first place. The search for more.

blackmonsters 08-26-2011 10:11 AM

I'll believe it when the aliens come back to pick up the gold they went through all
this trouble to create humans for.

Yeah it only takes a second for you to die.

But perhaps I should have said "our span of years".

dude... there is no secret here.

GOLD is the more pure element, the best conductor for electronic and electrical devices, its the most resistant element for Medical uses... among other properties.

its not just a nice rock.

That program is fucking hilarious! Bunch of people who never grew up or have mental issues spewing bollocks about stuff they thought of while getting a shot of ketamine.

Yeah ok, Aliens created humans and put us here to mine gold.

I'm pretty sure a race capable of creating a form of life would be able to mine it far more easily using some other means than putting a bunch of animals on a planet.
