How Desperate is ICM? I don't see any big announcements.

Just my personal opinion:

About now, I'd imagine that they are wondering why they gave a party if nobody is coming.:2 cents:

I haven't seem much in the way of big announcements and more studios seem to be sending the "notice" not to sell their domains.

Stand firm for the .com and "Say NO to .XXX"

I'd expect them to start offering free domains to major players who own their marks just so they can have some content.

:helpmePLEASSSEEE, Mr. Pornoguy.........can I have a site???????????:helpme

If I was a content/site owner, I'd be pissed that this situation has even occurred. I'd also be very concerned about my reputation in the adult industry if I bowed down and took one in the ass for .XXX.

:clownPLEASSEEEE, Mr. Pornoguy........I'll even give you the domains you already own.:clown

:1orglaugh:disgust:1orglaugh

Tell them to "Go Fuck Yourself":321GFY

In my opinion, their "FAIL" may be epic.:thumbsup

Gee, have they offered the same courtesy to adult stars?

Hundreds, possibly thousands of celebrities have had their names permanently banned from the new .xxx adults-only internet domain.

El Reg can reveal that everyone from Justin Bieber to Piers Morgan has had their .xxx address placed into a permanent "reserved" status by the registry manager, ICM Registry.

This means that cybersquatters or crafty porn webmasters will not be able to register domains such as Beyonce.xxx or BritneySpears.xxx to drive traffic to their sites.

It also means that many celebrities will not have to pay to protect their personal brands in the forthcoming .xxx "sunrise period" or take cybersquatters to court in future.

If ICM doesn't offer the same service to adult stars, the action shows they don't respect adult stars the same as regular celebrities. Again, it show how little they have in common with our industry.

Personally, looks to me like the adult stars are about to be :boid.......

Anyone who pays them a single penny after this is insane.

Frank Schilling already gave them 7-figures total for a bunch of names - that coupled with all the pre-reg's has them already winning pretty much. .mobi didn't need wide long term adoption to make a gob of money - just the initial hype.

i'd say the shilling deal was a big mistake for icm. for anyone who actually wanted any good .xxx domains, they lost out a good chunk to shilling in some back room deal. the .mobi people were in and out, sold the company in less than 5 years.
