Those brilliant Apple dickheads just got a new patent victory. And you know what? Good for them! Good for you too, Android users included. I hope they win all of their wars, because that would be good for all of us.

.... Google, Samsung, or HTC, just said "oh fuck this, let's all do the same" and came up with devices that are mostly copies of what Apple put out in their first iPhone. Sure, they added some stuff of their own and sure, Apple's user interface has some aspects that are not original. But mostly the iPhone's competitors are clones that show no imagination, no better ways to do things.

Interesting list, seriously great info. For the interest of the discussion however I would say the one Apple "invention" that is heard to debunk is the ability to bank $75 billion on all the above.

I still think Android feels clunky and laggy. Probably has a lot to do with the GUI not being hardware accelerated. And the Samsung phones all feel like light cheap plastic toys. The only thing I'll give them credit on is the screen. Beautiful beautiful screens.

Just Google the Compaq product. Looks nothing like the iPad. It has a keyboard for Christs sake. And the Night Ridder tablet was a product that didn't even exist. The version in the video is not even functional or real. You can't even call it vaporware because there was never even a promise that it would exist.

The iPhone was ready right around the time the LG Prada was. There is no way it influenced the design of the iPhone.

Ya Cisco had the name iPhone. But it was only logical. Apple had the whole iLine by then. iMac, iPod and a couple of other products with the iName

Swiping to go through pictures has been around for YEARS on touch screen cameras, tablet pcs, touchscreen all-in-one pcs and touch screen phones such as the palm.

Gimme a fucking break. Just because apple was the first to be "innovative" and invent a super cool way to do it the same way other companies have done it for years doesn't make the competition copy-cats.

The only thing apple did was make it "smoother" on a hand sized device and that's only because of the processing power available in a small product at it's release time.

This is exactly what Apple is afraid of. Finally the competition got good.
