Photographers: What Are Your Make-Up Hints/Tips/Tricks for Bruises, Scars, Stretchmarks, etc?
 

Photoshop may be a photographer's best friend (after his cameras and lenses), however, it is nice to not have to spend so much time in post-production, if you can do something about it in pre-production.

I shoot lots of go-go girls and fetish models, so bruises are a fact of life...

I like a few bruises and scars sometimes, if they look adventurous, but Dermablend rocks.

camera angles, wardrobe, lots of light and long glass... then a few touch ups..

beat them AFTER the shoot!

Send them home.

Stockings. Hide knife wounds with clothes. Shoot around their bullet hole. Photoshop.

Average chicks and hookers from developing countries are often the worst. Motor bike accident scars, fight wounds, odd jungle skin rashes, poorly stitched scars from operations, you name it. You really have to search to find a flawless body.

You forgot hideous/incongruous tattoos and the odd pierce / body modification. :Oh crap

Which reminds me, I did a recent shoot with another guy shooting stills, and I'm usually telling the model, "arch your back", "let your arm lay across that crease" (trying to be circumspect and keep the model from becoming self-conscious), however, he is telling the model "suck in that gut", and "can you do anything with that fat fold?"

The poor girl was on her first paid nude glam shoot and she was nearly in tears. Fortunately, that was the look we were going for... :)

You said it. Stocking are lifesavers and in some instances just going with full pantyhose to cover nasty motorbike tailpipe tattoos, blotchy skin, bruises from hip injections/whatever.

A well-planned outfit is the best thing to cover most/all imperfections. Rarely is there a need to have a model completely naked anyways.

One chick came in for an interview once. She seemed a little screwed up. When she took her coat off for a quick shoot I saw that she was a cutter, and was cut all the way up her arm. I told her I couldn't use her because of her scars, and she blasted me for being prejiduce against her "lifestyle choice".

Le sigh...

I love how the girls tell you how to run YOUR business.

most every girl here has a dominican tatoo (tailpipe burn) or have been layed down on a moto a few dozen times

You know you're a professional pornographer when...

You instantly recognize the tell-tale signs of curling iron burn marks on models (from trying to catch a dropped hair-curling iron), you can instantly identify specific hotel chains by the decor in video scenes, people consider you practically a medical expert for your knowledge about breast implants and STDs, and you have a love and understanding of all things pornographic. :helpme
