That's a huge engine for such a small car. Probably crazy fast. I have a CLS63 and since then I have been absolutely in love with AMG. I used to be the biggest //M fan before that. No more though.

really? i won't lie, i don't have a ton of experience with merc, but nothing beats m series in my book. you feel the road, really can have a race car feel on the regular road.

On the the twists and turns the M5 dominates. In straight lines it's pretty much even. Check the numbers. Zero to sixty dot com has them both at 4.0 0-60. For me it came down to styling. I can't say much about the roadsters though. Only the sedans. I drove both before buying AMG.

One of the few cars Im wary of on the road. Lol. I'll go toe to toe with an M5 any day but the CTS-V is a scary sedan.

Same here, I used to have an M3. Now I have a 2010 C63 AMG... I absolutely love it.

Rochard 08-22-2011 09:15 PM

Looks too "strong" to me - too mean.

The SLK is small, but it's a fairly robust hardtop convertible that weighs close to 3,500lbs. It will be quick, but I'm not sure it will be that much quicker than a C63.

This is going to be MB's game changer.

http://o.aolcdn.com/dims-global/dims...serieslive.jpg

510hp, revised 7 speed to shift in less than a tenth of a second and 175lbs lighter than a C63 sedans.

Oh and massive brakes along with a bunch of other suspension tweaks.

The Black Series C63 Coupe will be in a whole different price category than a regular C63 or M3, you can hardly count that as proper competition.

Thanks for the laugh. The 3 series is for the wife or kids - M or not. A grown man should drive a 5.

And for the record I've spanked quite a few E90's. :winkwink:

Says the guy who has (or had) a 3 series convertible. Then again with your height you need a removable roof, us vertically challenged don't have those issues.

:winkwink:

hey now!

the SLK came out when I had my SL. I remember thinking it was a girl's car.
I've got the 335i because I'm hooked on retractable hard tops but I needed a back seat.
kinda pigeon holes you on what you can do.

but since I drive a girl's car, I gotta point at something else as more girly. :winkwink:

Brad Gosse 08-23-2011 09:25 AM

I prefer the Audi and BMW for handling. I took this beast out a few weeks ago. It was fast but was no fun on corners.

I like to track my car. The m5 does not handle as good as the m3. If u have google u can see that the e90 is the best handling BMW ever built. I also have a supercharger in my car that's why I'm so confident lol

Well that would explain it. My car is stock. I'm not THAT much into going fast so it will probably stay that way until I dump it. My next car will most likely be the F10 M5 however since I don't like the direction they're taking at Mercedes. The cars are starting to look like gaudy chronograph concept watches.

Never said anything about it's price point. Regardless, for $80-$90k it will perform beyond what ANY production BMW or MB has done thus far minus the $500,000 SLR McLaren. :winkwink:
