I bet that none of you maroons can ask me a question I can't either answer or find the answer to .. Come up with a problem I can't solve, if I'm so stupid .. :1orglaugh

How about you get a job so you can take your pig the veterinarian and get its thyroid fixed?

Find three consecutive odd integers whose sum is 24 more than the greatest of the three integers.

Solve Albert Einstein riddle ... and you are in 2% of population :)

11 + 13 + 15 = 39
39 - 24 = 15

Suppose that solutions to a problem can be verified quickly. Then, can the solutions themselves also be computed quickly?

Assume "quickly" is defined as polynomial time. You'll be paid $1,000,000 if you can show that your answer is correct.

Redrob 08-20-2011 10:28 AM

x+(x-2)+(x-4)=x+24
3x-6=x+24
2x=30
x=15

Hence, 11/13/15 is the sequence.

simple shit.

That seems like a lot of work. I just did it my head. :)

Why is it said that light has no mass if it can be affected by gravitational pull?

light has energy and momentum which couples to gravity

How was the universe created/generated out of nothing?

Cherry7 08-20-2011 02:06 PM

Light travels at the speed of light in a vacuum , but in other mediums it slows down, hence it is bent to form nuddy pics.

But this is the bit I don't understand, after it comes out off glass where does the energy come from for it to speed up again to "light speed" ?

How is possible for it to be slowing down and speeding up?

Or is it always traveling at the same speed but glass is like a windy road ?

L-Pink 08-20-2011 02:13 PM

I'll send you a jpeg, please tell me if the rash is related to the weekend I spent in Nuevo Laredo.

Something like the winding road. The photons travel at the same speed. We know that some substances, like wood, absorb light. At the particle level, that means photons are absorbed by the molecules in the wood.

In other substances, we day that light is transmitted through. In glass, the individual photons are briefly absorbed, then re-emitted. The rate of absorption and re-emission controls how long it takes for a photon to make it all the way through the material.

So while the photons move at velocity C, the time spent on absorbtion reduces the average velocity.

MrMaxwell, you set yourself up for all sorts of abuse and hating by making posts like this, so I'll give you one that you may well be able to answer.........................

What is the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything?

Q1: Why do you care what we think about you?

Q2: Why are you spending time on here with mundane stuff like this instead of working on something?

The question assumes it "came from nothing". It didn't. Unless you know something science doesn't.

Technically we don't know what gravity is, we can only see how it behaves. However it is made up of particles called gravitons, which would be made up of molecules or parts of them, but they can't be seen because they're in use.

So when glass changes the nature of the light, color etc is this due to the difference in absorption and re emission of the photons?

This theory of photonic mass is incorrect. Theories of photons are 100 years old and mostly centered around shaky postulates such as relativity.

An object cannot have no mass but have energy. A photon is a result particle with a form that exists outside the currently observable universe.

That is also why the universe did not "appear" from nothing. There are other, currently unobserved frames with physical laws that may not correspond to the frame in which we live.
