WTF? A Flesh Eating Ameoba is Killing Folks via Water?
I've heard of ameoba's that live in ponds that can kill when entering the body via openings in the body like genitals, ears and noses, even lost a friend in high school, but that was in the 80's in Hawaii. I was amazed to read this today http://news.yahoo.com/3-die-rare-bra...001505888.html

Usually Wiels Disease you get from swimming somewhere iffy. Not heard of anyone having their brain munched on before.
|
So they're saying that here in Florida my brain might get eaten by an Amoeba if I go in fresh water.
Sounds about right. |
The one that scares me is the guy who died using his neti pot!

Actually the 16 year old girl that tragically lost her life recently was a local news story for me. It was heart breaking to watch her family and friends pray for her recovery and then she lost her battle. Its hard to understand how someone doing something so normal could lose their life in such a way. :Oh crap

News about FL? I don't even wanna read it.

Water is for fish... stick to dry land.

I was shocked too, i thought that shit only happened when your trekking through the amazon and shit. Yet right in our backyards, wtf....
I've never been much for fresh water, always seemed ify but im paranoid, er or maybe justified? |
more people die choking to death on their own toothbrush
|
People pick up nasty brain eating bugs if they stick their head underwater at places like Rotorua - you can pick up Amoebic Meningitis - very nasty very slow death.
For those who are geographically challenged Rotorua is an area of geothermal springs in New Zealand. |
|
I like to swim in chlorinated pools
|
Drink some tap water in the Philippines and a friendly amoeba (not this brain eating bitch) will help you lose a few kilos.
|
one of those stories that is hard to believe
