The Last Circus...anyone else excited for this flick?

I've heard great things about this flick and look froward to seeing it, though it probably won't hit theaters in my neck of the woods, so I'll have to wait for the DVD

No. Only you, kid.

Do they get me buzzed drunk and high first?

ottopottomouse 08-17-2011 11:06 AM

Never heard of it before and that trailer doesn't make me want to watch it.

I love Alex de la Iglesia's films.
My favorite of his is Perdita Durango, but I also liked 800 Bullets and La Communidad.

Balada triste de trompeta! (original title)
excellent, fucked up movie. my wife and I were staring in disbelief at some of the scenes.
always good when a movie catches you off guard more than once.

I fucking love Perdita Durango. I watched that high in motel room about 6 years ago, and it was one of the highlights of my existence, next to surfing Pipeline, and my first threesome.

He has a really black sense of humor in his movies. The violence in them kind of explodes out there.

They can be pretty over the top, but it depends on the kind of movies you watch. I watch a lot of underground, little known, way the fuck out there movies so it tends to take more to make me go "wow, that was insane".

La Communidad is pretty over the top, but still has a heart and soul. 800 Bullets is much more restrained.

He reminds me a lot of Guillermo Del Toro and even hints of early Peter Jackson. His editing style can be jarring, but he always has these big memorable scenes.

Looks like GFY on a saturday night when everyone gets back from the bars, or am I the only one that thinks that?

I would advise checking out Perdita Durango too. Javier Bardem is really good in it and Rosie Perez doesn't play the same type of annoying characters she normally plays...

Go watch some porn for women, Harmon.

Looks somehow like a "prequel" to "Muertos De Risa"...
