Is The USA Heading for the same kind of riots as the UK ?
Looks like the US kids are trying to copy what happened over here in the UK
'Flash mob' robs Maryland 7-Eleven in less than a minute, police (CNN) -- A "flash mob" believed to have been organized on the Internet robbed a Maryland convenience store in less than a minute, police said Tuesday, and now authorities are using the same tool to identify participants in the crime. Surveillance video shows a couple of teens walking into a Germantown 7-Eleven store on Saturday at 1:47 a.m. Then, in a matter of seconds, dozens more young people entered and grabbed items from store shelves and coolers. Police said the teens left the store together, without paying for anything. Violent "flash mob" attacks have also been reported recently in other cities across the country, leading to crackdowns on curfew enforcement and stepped-up police patrols. Extra state troopers were ordered in after what was described as a "mob beating" took place at the Wisconsin State Fair. Attacks in Cleveland, Chicago, and Washington have all led to the arrests of dozens of teens and resulted in extra police patrols in and around these cities. http://edition.cnn.com/2011/CRIME/08...Top+Stories%29 |
Yes, please panic.
Thanks. |
Seven day waiting period, clean background check, must be 21 years old, carry permit needed to have phone in public.

hooligans being hooligans is all that is. What happened in Britain seemed like a politically motivated (initially) protest/riot that got out of control. If the same thing began in the larger cities of the US I do not believe the police would shy away from using quite a bit more force to put it down then what happened across the pond :2 cents:

Even if it were, you wouldn't hear about it on TV...

This was also something else I was reading which is kinda similar to what the UK police now want to do with black berry if the riots return
Anonymous defaced the myBART.org website before publishing thousands of personal details. The site has since been taken offline Hackers have targeted the website of a San Francisco transport company that turned off mobile masts to prevent protests outside its stations. Public anger towards the Bay Area Rapid Transport (BART) had been fermenting since July when transit police shot dead a man who was carrying a knife. BART disconnected its transmitters in a bid to quell planned demonstrations. Hacker group Anonymous retaliated by attacking myBART.org, and releasing users' personal information. The hackers posted details of over 2,000 myBART users online. An action group has called for the disbanding of the BART police force following the July 3 shooting of a homeless man Charles Hill and also the 2009 killing of another man, Oscar Grant. Johannes Mehserle Johannes Mehserle was convicted of involuntary manslaughter over the death of Oscar Grant BART's decision has parallels with recent troubles in England where days of riots were sparked when 29-year-old Mark Duggan was shot dead by police in Tottenham, north London. Protesters have already been successful in rendering some stations on the network unusable by staging mass sit-ins. BART took the decision, on 11 August, to shut off mobile phone reception at some of its sites. In a statement, the transport company said: "BART temporarily interrupted service at select BART stations as one of many tactics to ensure the safety of everyone on the platform." It said protesters had stated that they: "would use mobile devices to coordinate their disruptive activities and communicate about the location and number of BART Police". BART added: "Disturbance during commute times at busy downtown San Francisco stations could lead to platform overcrowding and unsafe conditions for BART customers, employees and demonstrators." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14527705 |
You know, I often wondered what stopped large groups of people from targeting a single store, swarming it, and just walking out the door with stuff. My wife used to work in retail and they used to put things out for sale - clothes, shoes - right outside the door.
Now it looks like this is going to become a reality. Interesting. No worries. I'm sure they left all of their fingerprints, they'll be video from a bank across the street, and they'll match it up with cell phone records and arrested every last one of them. |

playing devils advocate, i often wonder if shit like this is just another excuse for the govt to continue to control our freedoms...
the latest trend seems to blame social networking.. . |
All it would take is for cops to monitor closely what's going on with certain people of note on Twitter etc, head to the location and mow down one of those flash mobs with swat rifles and this little flash mob problem would soon cease to exist.
Just saying. |
I call bullshit. Black people don't use the internet.

Obama gets re-elected... probably not.
Perry gets in... the shit hits the fan! |
The U.S. has had its share of riots...from local to national...and undoubtedly will have more in the future...nothing new about riots and looting in this country.

But you avoided the question. So when Obama took office the tea party held peaceful, yet some times vocal protests and you are predicting IF Perry gets in the left will have violent protests? Obama = Perry anyway. I don't know why the left would freak out. Edit: and the tea party should be losing popularity, they have been completely hijacked by neocons from the left. Like Perry who was chair for Al Gore in 1988 and Bachmann who campaigned for Carter. |

And he is no tea bagger, he is a left leaning neocon and agrees with Obama with about every major issue. |

The righties called Obama "The Messiah", and "The Anointed One", but it is Perry who claims he was "called to run". |
So if u dont like the tea party blame Obama?

This is not new or because of the UK riots. Flash mob looting and random violence has been going on for some time in the US. The media does not report it or downplays it because the perpetrators are almost exclusively Black. Most of the kids involved in the flash mobs would not even know what the "UK" is. :2 cents: |
