Why do CCBill sign-up forms ask for a phone number?
I've noticed CCBill sign-up pages ask for a phone number along with all the other regular stuff (CC number, address, etc...)
IBill doesn't ask for this, and I haven't noticed it on any of the other CC processors forms, so why ask for a phone number? |
Yea... jettis and psw don't ask for it either

Mark likes to call up customers for some hot and steamy phone sex.

I assume they use the phone number to check and see if it is the same as the one visa or mastercard have on file for that credit card.
I don't think visa has my phone number at all, and if they do, then it's probably an old number I had years ago. This just seems like it would create more denied transactions to me. |
ewwwwwwwwwwww.
Doesn't CCbill allow custom join pages though? Would be able to remove that then if they do. I know Epoch does, so you don't even need a CVV2 number or such. ZoiNk |
you can easily disable that like I did even withour using custom forms
|
huh... i just double-checked our ccBill sign-up forms and we don't have a field for phone number at all, i don't think we ever did actually. now, if only corvett would remove that blood-type checkbox, i'd be happy..!

the blood type box has to stay
Sly, FYI, we are also adding a ICQ EIN field, but there are only 6 spaces available, so if you want to sign up, contact FOONTIC just kidding, we dont have ICQ or blood type boxes Seriously, the phone number field is an optional field on the CCBill custom forms. It is by choice; some clients choose to have it, some choose to not have it. Its their call |
