Hilarious vid. RP is being ignored because he doesn't fit the narrative. As Juan Williams has said, RP is the FATHER of the Tea Party. He called out the financial mess many years before the shit finally hit the fan. Same with foreign policy. Keynes didn't pan out. His strong Iowa poll numbers indicate his "radical" prescriptions are finally resonating with key parts of the GOP electorate. You can bet that if the economy continues to tank and foreign involvements result in worse blowback, we'll see more and more of his ideas go mainstream.

The rich doesn't want Ron Paul, that's why he isn't there.

Ethersync 08-16-2011 04:28 AM

Mediaite has the whole segment which includes going after Rick Perry. Classic!

Ron Paul for president 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phoenix 08-16-2011 05:48 AM

he would do better as an idea man...and have someone else rep for him

he is super smart and on the ball, however he comes off as a lunatic more and more..lol

Joshua G 08-16-2011 07:06 AM

they should pass a law to require the media to tell the truth. That will solve the problem.

Rochard 08-16-2011 08:11 AM

Jon Stewart is so fucking funny...

porno jew 08-16-2011 08:14 AM

funny how the left is pushing "why are they ignoring ron paul" ... wonder why that would be?

The "right" considers me "left" and I'd vote for Ron Paul in a heart beat if he got the GOP nod. Sadly he won't get the party nomination though.

You wonder wrong. The left is hardly pushing Ron Paul and polls show Ron Paul is much more likely to beat Obama than anyone, but Romney who is 1% ahead of Paul. While they are not in agreement on many issues, Jon Stewart genuinely likes Ron Paul, as a person, and feels he is being slighted.

billywatson 08-16-2011 08:48 AM

His looks are what stop him.

If Ron Paul was a handsome, tall, middle-aged man with a touch of gray in his hair, he'd be the front runner.

This all started in 1960...the debate when Nixon had to deal with Kennedy's looks. Not his ideas. Fast forward to Sarah Palin, who proves all you gotta be is good looking to get somewhere in politics.

stinkyfingers 08-16-2011 09:08 AM

they're scared shitless

MediaGuy 08-16-2011 10:22 AM

Amazing that anyone on network TV is acknowledging Ron Paul.

:D

iamtam 08-16-2011 10:26 AM

ron paul is a flip flopping outsider, someone who speaks the language but doesnt communicate it well. he fails to bring consensus to the table, stands alone, and would as a result make a horrible president.

his own party wont deal with him, the democrats will laugh at him, and perhaps only the tea baggers will tolerate him. if you think obama is bad, imagine a situation where nobody wants to deal with the president, and he vetos everything that comes to his desk. wow.

Dumb question here - Is it possible the Republicans don't want the White House because they know the econonmy is the big issue and there is no easy fix? So instead they'll just bash the Democrats to make them look bad?

Nismo 08-16-2011 10:29 AM

Just saw that on Comedy Central. Fucking awesome video.

Very possible. It reminds me of what the Governor of the Bank of England said after their election last year:

Quote:

The Governor of the Bank of England was at the centre of an electoral storm last night after saying that the austerity measures needed to tackle Britain?s budget deficit would be so unpopular that whoever wins next week would not get back into government for a generation.

when you examine the field, the so called front runners all have potholes. Perry is a W clone, bachmann puts foot in mouth, & romney is as exciting as womens basketball.

only ron paul has no weaknesses.

gleem 08-16-2011 11:09 AM

none of them have a chance, Romney won't get the nod till 2016 cause that's when he's a shoe in. Maybe let bachman/Perry ticket or Perry/Bachman ticket fail now.

"That says it all, All News is shit news."

When a candidate is left out of the media for two elections it makes you wonder...

What is it about the candidate that scares the shit out of the rich old white guys who control the networks and have deep ties with the government ;)

EDIT: Last election they physically edited him out of all the debates... that's not neglect or laziness, that's straight up fear.

uno 08-16-2011 12:18 PM

Sad when you have to go to Comedy Central for real, honest news.

Ayla_SquareTurtle 08-16-2011 12:21 PM

amazing how all the punditry missed the obvious result of this weekend...

Perry/bachmann will split the jesusfreaks & Ron Paul will win the Iowa caucuses. When that happens, he will be the frontrunner.

Nice to see you've drunk the coolaid.

IllTestYourGirls 08-16-2011 01:56 PM

Lets see the field.

Perry = Chair for Al Gore in 1988
Bachmann = Worked on Carter campaign
Romney = Loves mandates, RomneyCare, has been on every side of every issue.

Gee I wonder why the media loves these three.
