So what's the deal with UUNet?
I admit I don't know enough about the bandwidth providers. I do know that through techiemedia (:thumbsup) I'm buying Level(3) and UUNet bandwidth, and that UUNet was the one that took a dump and cost us all cash last weekend. Are they normally a good company to be with? I've never had a problem with techiemedia, in fact I reccomend them all the time. I'm just trying to figure out if UUNet is something I should stay away from.
Come on, smart people of GFY, help an old man out. |
Rich,
It was not only UUnet that had the problem last weekend many major providers had it. It was caused by a worm and not any of the bandwidth providers. In addition to this ourt network was all patched up and had no downtime at all. Hit me up on ICQ 4433144 |
we also utilize uunet for some of our bandwidth, have been using them since 96 with very little trouble, the problem last week didnt effect our network or our db servers. ya gota stay up on patches and a step ahead of the cockholsters that spawn these attacks.

That's what I wanted to hear, thanks JFPdude. Like I said I've never had a problem with you in the small amount of time I've been with you, you guys rock. :thumbsup
I just saw all the red squares on UUNet at internetpulse.com and wanted to make sure it wasn't a weak provider or anything. |
It's not a UUnet issue, also you are not buying UUnet BW. I have servers at Techie and Candid, and I've never seen a route that didn't go thru Level3. You are on Level3 BW.
