Seeking Web Development/Design.
 

I know there have been a million posts and answers on the topic of who is a good web designer ... but here is one more.

My experience to date has not been positive. Any recommendations of professional individuals/companies would be useful. Some highlights of what I require/don't require:

• My experience so far has been that designers take a ... hands off approach ... asking/requiring of me what I want, how I want it to look, etc. and designs very narrowly/specifically. NO. What I require is a professional developer (not just designer) who knows the adult web business well, with considerable experience, and can conduct a professional assessment of niche business needs, assess the market/competition, and provide me with a detailed web development/design plan, and also able to undertake that development/design or coordinate the completion of the project through sub-contractors.
  
• The work needs to be custom. I will not accept, for example, a Wordpress theme from a portfolio that has simply had the colours and header text/image changed.
  
• I am currently using Wordpress on many of the sites that I need re-developed/designed, and I am not even certain that the way forward includes the continued use of Wordpress or any other blog/CMS platform. However, that determination will be part of the overall assessment and plan development.
  
• The project may also include a marketing/promotion strategy, depending on the capabilities and recommendations of the professional contracted to do the work.

It sounds like what you're looking for is something akin to a mainstream web design / development house rather than any given individual. A place with real project managers, designers, developers, and marketers. I'm unsure that these even exist in the adult space because of the low profit margins that people are running.

This type of setup in mainstream is likely to cost you high 5 figures low 6 figures depending on how much is involved.

You may have to end up being your own project manager and wrangling your own separate designer, developer, marketer, etc... it's going to be costly either way so I hope you have the capital to put into it.

Sure there are less costly solutions by finding individuals who cross into other segments but regardless of how good they are you're going to be spreading them quite thin if they need to be able to handle all of this at once and the quality of your product and marketing is going to suffer.

All and all though the bullet points in this post are very well written and clearly illustrate exactly what you're looking for I wish you the best of luck getting what you need!

Thanks BestXXXPorn and Sid70 for your comments. Greatly appreciated, and valuable insight/input. I agree with BestXXXPorn that what I am suggestion sounds more ... "corporate", and therefore expensive, than I am probably willing to spend. And, I know from past experiences that quotes can be outrageously high for very little work -- I've also paid such a high price, on one occasion, for work that I could have done myself -- I had expected so much better from the designer, and was really disappointed.

Also thanks to IllTestYourGirls (Sam) who has emailed me privately. I will contact you via email shortly with some info. If anyone has used Sam's services and would care to give him a recommendation, I would appreciate that ... and I'm sure he would also.
