Hash Tags are the new black

The movie 30 minutes or less, starring Danny McBride (Eastbound and Down) and Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) opens today. The 50 commercials I saw on tv for the movie all had #30MOL. A Twitter hashtag instead of the domain 30minutesorless.com

So how are you using them? Lets share some ideas

every band used to have a myspace address instead of a url as well.

they should have used facebook marketing because a large amount of people still don't know what twitter is.

Revolutions have been aided by Twitter. As much as I hate to say it and hate the platform. The marketers want to get a conversation started. A Facebook page is just another place for a movie poster and trailer.

Edit: I'd say it's working

For certain areas/niches twitter works great and is highly targeted. Will hashtags be around forever? No, but who cares as long as I can exploit it today.
