No NFL in Asia :( I miss the hysteria and sports betting... live game in HD! the simple things in life.

NFL? What's that =) Already week 7 up north in the CFL We have to start early before we are buried in snow in a few weeks =)

NFL preseason always sucks but at least it gets us excited for the season. Go Steelers!

Our preseason is moving along nicely.

So I thought long and hard about it... Actually it was an impulse buy... I got the $20 preseason live games from nfl.com. Worked out because my team is on the East Coast so their games aren't blacked out. Actually, all teams I want to watch are on the East Coast... So I can watch them all live.

Anyway...

So then I get to thinking... Hmm... I wonder if I can hook up a spare computer to the HDTV in the living room? I know.... Like I of all people haven't done this yet...

Sure enough it works quite easily. Computer even has an HDMI outlet I didn't even know it had! Sound through speaker system. Nice... Now I can blare preseason football so my neighbors know the lockout is over!

Now I am looking into whether or not my FIOS connection can be run through a graphics card with a digital thingy to make it record shows... FIOS sucks ass compared to DirecTV when it comes to allowing you to pair your computer with your DVR. Once I am done I might even consider dropping the FIOS TV and just keep the Internet. Drop the phone line too.

I usually don't watch preseason games. None of the big stars play. And all the rest play with half effort.

The rest are playing for a spot on the team which is based on their performance so its in their best interest to give 100% effort.

Unfortunately their 100% effort amounts to about half of what the starters can do. :winkwink:
