You're right that there are a hell of a lot of russian CP sites, and they are hard to deal with. However, please do still report them. ASACP works with the FBI (they don't get your info, just the site's) and other agencies to deal with this. Sometimes, the sites still have some kind of connection in North America, or promote sponsors who can be informed so they can cut off payments.

Child pornography is a growing issue internationally and there is a very aggressive effort on all sides to shut it down. Even, to a certain extent, in Russia. Do report it.

Thanks!

ASACP is awesome, made the process very easy and a quick reply too.

I had to report some Ukranian assholes just last week :(

Seems to be a rash of this UCE CP shit going around in email lately

Please report any websites that appear to contain any illegal child pornography content to us at... ASACP Report A Site

The location of the actual site, webmaster(s), owner(s), does not matter. It is true that it is more difficult for authorities to shut down sites in some countries but it is not impossible. We do work with law enforcement agencies including the F.B.I. These law enforcement agencies will share information with their counterparts in other countries and in some cases even coordinate their efforts. There have been several high profile cases where arrests were made in several countries simultaneously as part of an international law enforcement effort. Some of these countries have included Russia, U.S.A. , Italy, Japan, Canada and England. Authorities will seize the credit card files used to gain access by customers and begin investigations against them as well.

I will now try to clarify this post...

" OMG I can't Believe this I reported it, and they said that it isn't child porn."

Many of you may already be aware that under the current Child Pornography Laws nudity does not always equal pornography. In other words regardless if a child is nude, partially nude or fully clothed, this is not as important in determining if it is cp as what the child is doing and/or having done to them. If the image is lewd or sexual in nature then chances are it is child pornography.

This "loophole" exists to protect legitimate artists such as David Hamilton. For those of you who don't know who David Hamilton is, he is a world renowned photographer who specializes in artistic child nude photographs. It also exists to protect everyday people who may want to take an innocent picture of their child in the bath tub and share it with family and friends through email or on the family website. Unfortunately there has been a growing number of websites over the past few years that are exploiting this loophole. They call their sites "artistic" in nature and contain legal disclaimers and warnings for child predators to "stay out". These site owners have retained the services of lawyers to evaluate their content to ensure compliance with uscode/18/2256. In reality everyone knows that the people purchasing memberships to these sites are not art lovers.

All that being said we at ASACP do report these sites if we know the authorities are not already aware of the site or if we feel there is any question as to the sites legal status. Because many of these sites do operate within the law they advertise heavily via spam email. The authorities and ASACP receive numerous reports regarding these sites. Rest assured that the authorities are aware of a great many of these sites and do act against them if they feel they can prosecute.

We do encourage anyone who feels they have seen an illegal child pornography site to report it to us. Even if you are not sure what you saw was child pornography it is best to err on the side of caution.

I hope this has helped to clarify this issue and anyone who has any questions or comments please feel free to email me at

[email protected]

P.S. GotGauge please drop me an email with the site address if you feel that I should review this site again. I would be happy to do it.

I've been getting them myself and it's the same dam site's over and over. I turn'm in 2 spamcop, hasn't done any good though. I often wonder why would you spam the same email address 3 or 4 times aday with the same shit.

stonedfucker 01-30-2003 11:21 AM

I wish you luck on getting something done with that.

I actually traced a CP spam mail back to the physical location of the server.

I emailed the local FBI office the email & the physical host address, no response. I called the same office on my dime to report it.

Got hold of a female that could barely speak english. Said she would forward it on.

That was two years ago - the site is still up.

After a bad experience with an arrogant cop,
(he insinuated, that even though I was using a hotmail email addy, that he could trace it and find out who I was, where I lived, etc etc, and would never usually respond to any anon-email address, might "might" take a look at the site which I was complaining about)

I would never directly send anything to any police depts

send it to these guys/gals instead, they probably know the right people to contact

princess 01-30-2003 11:51 AM

ASACP Tim! Nice to see you out and about hon. I figured it wouldn't hurt to add my thanks to you here. You've been doing a fine job for years with ASACP and it's been a pleasure to work with you what little I have.

Keep up the good work guys!

:thumbsup

chAos-mAtrix 01-30-2003 11:53 AM

Go get em... Just for our own reasons we even stopped dressing girls up to look too young for reasons that were personal ...

We actually had a CP incident here one time and were dealing with the police on it and i could not belive what they considered CP and not CP ... We had some detectives look at the content that FULLY considered CP and they said that it falls under the artistic realm ..... THAT IS BULLSHIT... They were saying that since there was no implied or actual sex that it was not illegal to posses and that it is an artistic image. ..

I mean that really pissed me off... But yeah i woud talk to ASCAP first next time and then hopefully go from there.

atomicux 01-30-2003 12:05 PM

Regardless of where you report the CP, just make sure that you do! We're all so very busy, blah blah blah but this is actually more important than anything your currently working on.

Don't just delete it, defeat it, then GFY

Thanks for that, Patrick! Just a quick point though... As you can imagine, the FBI is so inundated with reports, it's hard for them to get to them all. However, the reports sent by ASACP receive a higher priority, as the FBI knows that ASACP has already reviewed it and it's confirmed child pornography. This gives the FBI the time to go after the real criminals.

the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Keep reporting the sites, even if it is the same site every day. Eventually it will get the attention of the powers that be. Besides, they may be on a new host this time, so they will be forced to move again.

It may seem pointless, but you can't stop or else Joe Public will never believe that we do truly police ourselves.
