zip/unzip in CuteFTP - changing host
 

hey... maybe a dumb question... but im changing host and I need to transfer all my files... Im thinking of making ZIPs .. upload them on my new server and unzip them in CuteFTP...

But im not finding any zip/unzip option...!?

log into the shell and use the zip command. It is found on most unix boxes. Not as easy to use as winzip. You will have to look through the options.

Man, go to your host and tell them you would like them to move your files over.

99% of the time they can pull everything server to server and the transfer is way faster and you can have a beer and watch the game while it is being done.
