Why do clothing stores play music so fucking loud?
So last week I went to buy some new clothes and they had the music on so fucking loud that I couldn't hear myself think. I walked out of the store not even looking for what I wanted.
Down the street, same fucking thing. Loud as fuck music. It was so loud that I couldn't even hear the girl answer a couple of questions like "Do you have my size?" I told her the music was TOO FUCKING LOUD but she tried to say it was not up to her, blah blah blah. So from that moment I decided to talk very quietly to her, and try to make her realize the music was too loud. Guess what? It didn't work. She couldn't give a fuck. Do you know anyone who owns or manages a clothing store? Do they have the volume cranked up to 11? Can you ask them why the fuck they do that? |
Trying hard to be hip.

If it's too loud you're too old.
Time to stop shopping in hipster outlets. I think you're ready for Dockers and a Polo. |
to make you buy, it is marketing
|
Give them a break.
How else are they going to drown out your screams when you see the price tag? |
Excuse me i cant hear u please speak up. Lol i think they are trying to give u sexy nightclub vibe. There was one i walked by in the mall, loud music low lights u would think it was a club. Call me old but i like stores well lit so can see what im buying.

Maybe you should stop shopping at kids stores? Adult stores don't have the music that loud.

If you don't know why the music was so loud, maybe you shouldn't be shopping. Or your too old to be shopping in a "hip" store.
For years they played elevator music in the background at stores. Then they discovered that certain music stimulates different shoppers in different ways. Younger crowds don't like to shop in places that play elevator music, Elton John, and the Cars. They want their music loud and more modern. |
What kind of music do they play in Montreal clothing shops?

I'm 20. I shop in places like Rue 21, Charlotte Russe, Pac Sun, Necessary Clothing, etc. Younger crowd but not like teeny bopper crowd. |
to keep old cunts like us out
|
Basically, they want to make the shop uncomfortable for those that would question the ridiculousness of a $300 T-shirt or $600 jeans.
Keep the bass loud and the old fuckers out. Impressionable minds that aren't obsessed with reason are good customers ;) |
I hate loud music in stores!!

None of the stores I shop at even have kids working. Maybe I'm too boring. |
Young girls run those places, most of the managers are under 25.
|
I think they want to go to mars so they
Pump up the volume... |
Yep, to keep old people out. Your hearing has probably gone anyway and all you can hear is the bass so it sounds louder
|
To make you turn your head on them.
|
Fuck all of you young whippersnappers.
Going to watch Murder She Wrote now. On VHS. |
a friend of mine worked in a clothing store. when he wanted to close he played some experimental stuff out loud. no customers remained :)
