Oktoberfest gathering - you going?

If so, where are you staying. Looks like Munich is pretty well booked up. Trying to find a reasonable place to stay.

Any hints/tips?

TIA

The question was with regards to lodging. But thanks for the bump.

If all inner city places are booked up I'd try places on the outskirts such as Freising or anything connected to the Munich S-Bahn.

Should get you to the Wiesn within 45 to 60 minutes tops.

Edit
Also many local places are not hooked up to international reservation systems so I'd try contacting them directly

I can find stuff within walking distance. Just looking for suggestions on economy rooms. Any you can recommend?

there really is no such thing as economy at that time of year, We stayed at a hote next to the central station last time it was less expensive than the host hotel, but not by a lot. I will try and find the name and let you know, Continental maybe...........

It does look as though any available rooms in normal hotels nearby go for about 180 euro upwards per night for a single.

Depending on how economic you want to be, a Pension (a guest house) might be an option.

This one for example goes for 100 euro per single room during the Oktoberfest season, 2 minutes walk to the Theresienwiese.

None that I can recommend from experience though.

Can I live in your house, the three weeks a year you're home I'll get a hotel.

Yeah, might as well rent to someone I know. :1orglaugh

MaDalton 08-05-2011 06:23 PM

the hotels make like 50% of their yearly revenue in that month, no economy at that time
