Anyone in the mood for the Moody Blues?

The Moody Blues were a seminal influence in classical/progressive rock music when they released their major opus, "Nights in White Satin", in 1967.

While this concept record sold reasonably well, reaching #27 on the UK music charts, the "Days of Future Passed" music would keep gaining airplay and fans steadily until five years later, in 1972, it peaked at #3 on the US Billboard charts.

The music of the Moodies has been playing like a soundtrack throughout my life, and I am sure some of their songs will make it into my funeral. I love that the Moody Blues music and lyrics are frequently beautiful, thoughtful, and melancholic.

The group in various incarnations continues to tour all these decades later. I never miss a Moody Blues show if I can - always a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Please enjoy the music in the background as you continue about your routine (get comfortable, because some of their songs are long)... :)

Yo :thumbsup :thumbsup on The Moodies ADG. Tremendous post. Had to give mad props :) :stoned

Only a couple of us around here can dig it I'm afraid and I would be one. :)

My fav: Story in your eyes, also several off their newer album, like Your Wildest Dreams.

Also Forever Autumn didnt see. (some dont list titles) Moodies can be very heavy and moody shit tho and I dont know if I ever listened to a whole album (disk). Guys would freak out on the Moodies in the early 70s. :) They are very manic - depressive I would say. The manic is awesome tho.

Another Brit group. :thumbsup You guys are kings of Music... I am giving it up.. right here.. right now.. for Great Britain. You guys ROCK :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

And to ROCK.. IS.. the highest compliment as we all know. :) Note I always spell it Britian but I caught it this time. :) So Yank of me :)

Also Ride My See Saw is a powerful tune. So many.

hmmm a lil lady posted this song on yt .. hmm.. could it be destiny..

Won't you lay it on the line?
I need to hear it just one more time.

3. "Gemini Dream" (Hayward, Lodge) – 4:09
4. "In My World" (Hayward) – 7:22

Side two

1. "Meanwhile" (Hayward) – 4:08
2. "22,000 Days" (Graeme Edge) – 5:25
3. "Nervous" (Lodge) – 5:45
4. "Painted Smile" (Ray Thomas) – 3:18
5. "Reflective Smile" (Thomas) – 0:36
6. "Veteran Cosmic Rocker" (Thomas) – 3:18

1986 The Other Side of Life

Side One

1. "Your Wildest Dreams" (Justin Hayward) – 4:50
2. "Talkin' Talkin'" (Hayward, John Lodge) – 3:50
3. "Rock 'N' Roll over You" (Lodge) – 4:50
4. "I Just Don't Care" (Hayward) – 4:25
5. "Running Out of Love" (Hayward, Lodge) – 4:25

Side Two

1. "The Other Side of Life" (Hayward) – 6:50
