Stats can say whatever you want them to say. 1:207 might be ok unless it takes me another 200 hits to get 1 hit to your site. Then it's actually 1:40,000. Also even at 1:200 than means 199 out of 200 surfers said "thanks but no thanks". That is good? Imagine if 199 out of every 200 customers that walked into a McDonald's walked out without buying anything? They'd be out of business in no time.

This is regular unique 1st page clicks.

And comparing a McDonald's with a online porn site is a stretch lol :upsidedow

On YOUR site. Unless one is sending 100% redirected traffic( in which case I doubt you'd get 1:207 ) the REAL ratio is not going to be 1:207.

I'm making a point. Having 99.5% of your potential customers say no is hardly something to cheer about except in this industry.

max_miller 08-02-2011 04:50 AM

How many unique visitors do you have on them? .. for example on 666Bukkake.com?

halfpint 08-02-2011 04:59 AM

I'm pretty sure most online businesses that target a market as general as "men" have that problem.

You can enhance that comparison to people that drive by a McDonalds location daily, and those that walk by a McDonalds location in a place such as a mall food court.

Not really. I can pass a McDonald's on my way to the doctors or some other busainess not related to food. I'm not going to GermanGooGirls.com on my way to ESPN.com. If I get to GermanGooGirls.com there's 95% chance I meant to go there.

Not really. The amount of filtering determines whether a surfer meant to go there or not. On top of that, that they went there with the idea of purchasing a membership. That they are able to be billed and pay for a membership in the first place.

Ratios are relative to the traffic source.

You got it wrong you have to compare it to how many people walk or drive by the mcdonalds too and add in people that saw ads and didn't go :)
