Anyone have a truck with a lift kit? Going for SUV to Truck?

I have a 2005 Tahoe Z71 in good condition. Has a year left of full warranty (bought extended from dealer) and have someone who made me a good offer on it.

Since I bought it, I've been putting it to good use, but found myself asking to borrow my friends truck (F250) a few times to get things, like a snow blower, lawn mower, etc. I have an "every day car" that my gf will mainly drive and we use the Tahoe for picking stuff up, football tail gating, etc.

I'm considering buying a truck (crew cab), specifically one with a lift kit. First because I think it looks nice and 2nd I want people to say "oh shit, watch out for this asshole" :1orglaugh

Im in between a truck or getting a larger SUV with 3rd row seats. I don't have a 3rd row now, my Tahoe only has 2 because of the sport package. I'm considering an Yukon XL or Escalade ESV. However, thinking of plans in the future, a truck might be better as I am working on redoing a lot of my property with landscaping and renting a lot of equipment to tear up my lawn.

Anyone made the switch from SUV to truck and happy? Likewise, is it better to buy a "regular" truck and lift it myself or buy one already with the kit?

If you're going to do it, I suggest you get a 3/4 ton +. Also familiarize yourself with whatever lift you want/need. If you buy used know what lift was used and ask who installed it.

For years I had a Suburban. The third seat was hard to access and a part of the vehicle I never used. I got a 2500HD and love it. The backseat isn't as comfortable but I never sit there so who cares. The ability to transport lawn stuff, like gas cans, is much easier. I like the truck better.

I'm pretty much sold on the truck.

Ive been looking at either the GMC 2500HD or the Ford F250. I like the inside of the Ford, my friend has one and its a pretty nice ride. I'm going to test drive a few later this week and see what I like.

Had a friend recommend a Nissan Titan, so might try that out too

My brother has a Ford F250 and it's pretty nice too. Look into the diesel, real trucks don't have spark plugs.

Make sure your insurance company will cover a lifted truck. I know state farm as an example wont cover vehicles that have been modified from stock ride height unless you purchase some ridiculously overpriced additional coverage. You could of course not tell them but all bets are off if you actually get in an accident and need to file a claim

If you've got $50k+ to spend, get a crew cab SVT Raptor and you wont need a lift kit, it comes with all the good shit from the factory.

I absolutely love my Raptor.
