The Feds had to do a video because people are too STUPID and ILLITERATE to READ the fucking CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 and figure it out.

A sad day when people can only learn through videos, which are essentially pictures.

Shades of the Middle Ages.

"Businesses found in violation of the rules face up to a $16,000 fine per violation."

damn, is that per "campaign" or per email?

It can be per email and if you bothered to READ the Act, you would know this.

Street address though?

You must provide a company (or your) name, and address at the bottom of all emails, yes.

No, you can use a PO Box as well. Just has to be associated to you or your business.

Correct, you can. However, my point was you must list you/company and address in every email for compliance. I did not say it MUST BE your home or physical office address.

:2 cents:

Per email.

Don't forget, though, that CAN-SPAM is the most liberal standard by far.
Your ISP, payment processors, and Guido who happens to live down the block
aren't going to appreciate spam even if it barely avoids federal prosecution under that one law.

For another example, if you send UCE to me in Texas and the subject line is misleading, it's a class B misdemeanor punishable by up to 180 days in jail. One thousand emails at six months each is up to 500 years in jail.

My rule is simple and has served us well for fifteen years. Never send an email that the recipient won't be happy to receive. Our customers keep coming back for years and years.
