google and redirecting mobile traffic
how does google react to redirecting mobile browsers?
is it bad if they go to m.domain.com is it worse if they go to mymobilesite.com what are the implications? |
depends what its for.
I think its better to use a subdomain then to a different one because goog will give the different domain the credit as its mobile site. |
The main bot doesn't see mobile redirects and the mobile bot looks for wap sites, not device sites like smartphones.
Whatever bot does find it, will simply pass the value over. It makes no difference value or seo wise, if you use a sub domain or new domain. If you use a sub-domain, don't take down that sub-domain or sponsor, setup a new sub-domain if you setup a new sponsor. Members will return to them, like a paysite, don't disconnect them from what they purchased. - This is why I go with sub-domains, however I have plenty of normal domains setup on mobile as well. |
