Anyone Get Their Taxes Done Yet?

I just discovered that I owe the Government $2,200.00

I think I'm going to fake my own death.

boldy 01-28-2003 04:15 PM

twistyneck 01-28-2003 04:16 PM

Have an accountant look it over first. You might be surprised at what a good tax guy can do for you.

Fletch XXX 01-28-2003 04:29 PM

2200 bucks is nothing.

i can smoke that.

hehehe

Marcus 01-28-2003 04:30 PM

Yeah see a different accountant and get a second opinion.

On all my jobs working for others I always elected to take out an extra $20, or whatever, a week out of my check for taxes, it really adds up and it's nice to get a good bonus come tax time. I get a refund every year.

If you do that now then next year you wont have this problem.

BJ 01-28-2003 04:30 PM

me all done! (I hope)

I remember the first year I paid more in taxes than I had made in salary when working for someone else in the "corporate" world. I wasn't sure if I should be happy or sad!

Cheshire - get thee to a good CPA!! There are stacks of tax codes you and I know nothing about nor could we find them if we tried. My accountant saves me many, many times more than his fee :thumbsup

Rilose 01-28-2003 05:01 PM

50% in canada approx.........

Yeah I just did mine last week.
The bill is really high but less than I thought it would be.

Perhaps you should adjust your withholding from your check?

Lily 01-28-2003 07:45 PM

I paid quarterly last year and I still owe about $30,000. I always told my parents to stop complaining about taxes, that they pay for government programs we need...now I'm the one complaining.

playa 01-28-2003 07:56 PM

try paying over 8k every 4 months,,
