FAA Shut down because Congress cannot agree on anything

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/0..._n_907455.html

Pretty depressing the fact that these selfish fucks cannot agree on anything.
And the fact that we will default on our debt in a week, because again, congress
cannot agree on anything. :Oh crap

bignasty 07-26-2011 06:28 AM

I saw an article the other day about the taxes that are assessed on flights. Since the FAA is shutdown, the taxes aren't being collected, but some of the airlines are raising tickets by the amount of taxes and pocketing them.

Yeah I heard the same thing. The selfishness and greed is just breathtaking at this point.

"Airplane passengers won't notice anything different at airports as a result of FAA's funding being cut off. But one effect will be felt immediately by some: 4,000 FAA employees will be furloughed at the stroke of midnight."

ok so why are these people being hired in the firstplace? that is the problem, government is to big and to bloated. all they do is create useless jobs for people.

pretty much :2 cents:

why are there some 4000 people in this division anyway? it seems like the gov't just creates jobs pointlessly to burn through money

think of all the people with pensions who worked for the government who just sat at a desk with little to no skill. trust me i have 2 of them as close relatives. it is quite "funny" but at the same time not funny at all.

Sure glad we don't fly. We used to fly, but we gave that all up about the time of 9/11, vacations are even more fun now....seeing the country looking out of the window :thumbsup

Term limits wouldn't be an issue if voters would pull their heads out of their asses and vote these guys out of office....when over 50% of the people stay home during elections...the message that sends is "do whatever you want, I'm not even going to make a choice anyways". That attitude always favors the incumbents.

Wizzo 07-26-2011 08:40 AM

Its also $200,000,000 a week in taxes lost... crazy.

Rochard 07-26-2011 08:45 AM

Well, what we need to do is this.... The moment the Government shuts down, the very first thing that goes is the FAA, air trafficcontrollers, and TSA, effectively shutting down all of the airports. This way no in Congress can leave. Next up is their paychecks - They don't get paid. Nor does their staff. We'll have to turn the AC off in all government buildings. No more healthcare for them either, being as that is no longer covered.

That should get them to agree quickly.

The other issue that people have the mentality "well, it's not my Congressman doing a bad job" and this happens in each state and each one is re-elected and it's the same vicious cycle.

I hate flying, haven't done it in ten years or so. It is much more fun driving through and seeing everything just looking out, much more enjoyable than all the bullshit with flying.

I agree. These clowns have no personal financial or health care worries so they could care less about the public. Just dicking around to be difficult. Seems their motto is "We dont give a shit about you."

ThunderBalls 07-26-2011 06:21 PM

The republican house voted a force shutdown of the FAA. They are intentionally driving this country to the brink of ruin just to get a black man out the white house.

LiveDose 07-26-2011 10:12 PM

What goes on in DC these days is criminal. Shame on us for letting these arrogant punks run this country into the ground.

4000 people and $200,000,000 in income per week! That doesn't sound like bad numbers to me :2 cents:
