Poor hosting
do you think its fair to be billed when there has been down time? A few hosts have had down time and issues. It's annoying how if you go over on bandwidth they are quick to bill you but no credit for when there is downtime.
|
Depends on your agreement with the host. Generally you get what you pay for.
|
It depends how much down time we are talking about. Our industry sets the bar pretty high when it comes to hosting and downtime. If your talking less than two or three hours, no. Anything more is open to discussion. You also have to take into consideration to what caused the outage.
I look at it this way... If my power here at the house goes down for six hours, I don't get the entire month for free. |

You can always change the hosting :pimp

If you were at NatNet you wouldn't have to think about any of that.

Check certified hosting.

You can talk to your host and ask them to give you credit you for the downtime if it was for a long period. I doubt you'll be automatically given credit without asking for it.

You have to host with someone who has an SLA agreement.. there is no reason you should be paying for hosting during a time that you are losing money - :2 cents:
