NFL Lockout To Be Lifted

Owners have approved the agreement, players next - team facilities will be open for players on Saturday.

A 10 year deal - so football fans won't have to put up with this bullshit again for a long time.

Awesome news!

...not really so sure why the 'players' think they deserve more money in the first place anyway... it's not like they figured out how to run a biz enterprise, making it convert sales etc... they basically play with their dicks all day and think they deserve more money...

truth of the mater is without the NFL most of the 'players' would be selling crack, working as bouncers or some other low level routine...while the owners would just find another way to make buku bucks

think about it: so what are your job skills? I can run around and catch shit :2 cents:

true but they are the entertainers, they are the product, without the NFL having the best football players on the planet the NFL would be a second rate league like the Canadian Football League where franchises sell for 2 million dollars not close to 1 billion dollars like in the NFL.

According to stats about 50% of all NFL players have college degrees which is pretty good really, so they are fully capable of standing in line like the millions of other unemployed.

Really I think they were angling for better health insurance which they should get considering they play the most dangerous professional sport in the world, although like many other pro sports I think their actual salaries/bonuses are a farce.

When was the last time you saw anyone walking around with a jersey that the name of a team owner on the back? While it may be the owners team, the players are the face of that team.

kane 07-21-2011 06:42 PM

The deal isn't done yet. The owners voted on a contract that the players haven't even seen yet so there is a decent chance they will turn it down.

Yay, if this goes through, all of the Ravens will be staying at the hotel up the street and there will be hundreds of idiotic fans running around my town. So much fun. It's been too damn quiet!

The players will bitch no matter what - some Minnesota punter tweeted a really nasty tweet directed at Brees, Manning, Brady and the other players who are representing the players in the negotiations.

JohnRingo 07-21-2011 07:25 PM

Wow. We pay for all of it. Guess that gives us the right to whine like little bitches about it.

Been there once and never again. Almost got shanked with a box cutter.

So no, the city hasn't cleaned it up and never will. I hate Baltimore City with a passion. That's why I moved further out into the country. :thumbsup

One of the coolest things I ever did while playing tourist was going on the WW2 submarine docked in the harbor. All I could thing about was that old war movie "Das boot"

When I lived in DC I would go to baseball games and sometimes would hit the block for a few drinks, interesting place.
