North American hosting penalized versus European hosts ?

Now this one's going to be fun :upsidedow

I am pretty sure that SE's are "more friendly" with hosts/ips from all around the world regarding top positions.

Let me explain.
I had a bunch of hot domains and made blogs with them. Got a VPS with some Ips from a North American host, never got listed well. Switch to a another VPS located in europe. BANG all of them got listed. First page regarding lots of various keywords and making sales. Same designs, same stuff. Just hosted elsewhere. :disgust

To much stuff hosted in North America ? Saturated ?
Wanting to give chances to get top listings to other people ?

interesting but I could only speculate

interesting, gonne do an experiment here (move some stuff) and see what happens ;)

Will update you with results when I have them !

You have not provided near enough information to know whether your speculation is correct or not. Where is your target demographic located, does the NA host have a bunch of dirty IPs?

Yeah maybe the dirty thingo could be the problem but to be honest, i don't know. All i can say for now is that it worked out for me. It's a reliable host by the way (i don't want to bash them) probably has nothing to do with them. I'm just asking if you experienced the same thing ?

It's a "theory" so to speak but i got proof ? Pure Luck ? Don't know...

"Reliable" hosts can have their issues too.

Simlar happened here a few years ago ...but it was just contained to North American hosts ...for some strange reason it seemed that when hosting stuff with "The Planet" it became a little more search engine friendly.

I just put it down to luck and such , didnt have enough data to really confirm it , but now you have mentioned it maybe it was more than that.

makes you go ummmmmmmmmmm :)
