Toronto Canada to reach with humidity close to 50C / 120F

http://www.theweathernetwork.com/new...veweather_city

?Thursday will definitely be the day to talk about,? says Elena Lappo, a meteorologist at The Weather Network. ?The forecast temperature for Toronto is 38°C, feeling like 49. To put that number into perspective, the hottest day ever recorded at Pearson Airport was 38.3°C on Aug. 25, 1948, so there's the potential to beat that.?

Some areas could also reach official heat wave status this week, which is three consectutive days with temperatures of 32°C or higher. In Quebec, it's three days with 30°C or higher.

I don't think there is another group of people in the world that complain about weather more than Canadians. When it is hot, its too hot, when it is cold it is too cold.

Canada is the only country in the world where you can have all 4 seasons in 1 day.

Yup, I've lived around in several countries and as a Canadian I can say we are the biggest bitches when it comes to weather.

I tell peeps if you not happy... MOVE. More room for me :winkwink:

magicmike 07-21-2011 08:00 AM

Its going to be hotter in a lot of the USA and even other parts of Ontario. So thanks.

How come Canadians love hot weather in the winter when they are down south, but hate it when they have it at home?

It is just an amusing paradox really. I mean you don't hear the same whining from northern living Americans who share the same climate.

MaDalton 07-21-2011 08:07 AM

"feeling like" doesnt count, 38°C is 38°C and not 50

Best-In-BC 07-21-2011 08:08 AM

Good, send the leafs out to burn and dry out in the streets where the people from the rest of Canada can enjoy them for what there worth :thumbsup

true.. complaining is our national past time though. More so than hockey even.

We have things good here so we have to fish for things to complain about, I find myself doing it the same :)

I don't think we complain when we go down south for the warmer weather because anytime we do its normally because it is a vacation, so normally that involves a lot more pool/beach time, relaxing and less traffic and stress.

38 Celsius with no humidity is way different the a 38 degree with high humidity

it does when humidity reaches a level that the human body finds difficult to get rid of heat. Thats why its less dangerous to be in 100 degree temps in the dry dessert air, where the sweat can evaporate, than 100 Degree temps in the jungle at 100% humidity, where the air can no longer wick away the sweat.

I dont a lot about the Geography of Canada, but from what Ive seen, I dont think there are any igloos in Toronto... but I could be mistaken :1orglaugh

Way to stereotype an entire country :thumbsup

Now STFU and get back to making circle back and maple syrup

_Richard_ 07-21-2011 09:28 AM

Not sure if serious. Humid air can have several times the amount of energy as dry air.

Si 07-21-2011 09:35 AM

I've played tennis in 44*C don't know what the "feel like" temp was. But that was in Italy during a heat wave there.

Had to drink a ton of water! :1orglaugh

Kenny B! 07-21-2011 10:09 AM

Just an average Arizona summer day!

JayDeeZee 07-21-2011 10:09 AM

I was just out at Younge / Dundas. You should see all the short skirts, Low cut tops and even a few Bikinis!

I love this weather!

:thumbsup

Since a while they started to add the humidity factor, it look more dramatic. It's like saying close to 50, but it's not 50. In Montreal there 46km/h winds, but we don't have a wind factor, otherwise the 46 feel like would drop to 32.

But after all, it's fucking hot lol

Mutt 07-21-2011 10:45 AM

Toronto - 97°F Feels Like: 109°

Detroit is 98°F Feels Like: 111°

and it's not a record, the record high was set in 1948. global warming has nothing to do with this, hot humid heat waves in summer are not unusual in Ontario.

now if plus 90 temperatures were sustained for a month - that would be something interesting.

yes you do, find a Buffalo, NY radio station online - they're whining just as bad as Toronto and I'm sure other US cities in the Rust Belt and Midwest are doing the same.

dyna mo 07-21-2011 10:48 AM

los angeles - 71°F Feels Like: 71°F

Raja 07-21-2011 10:49 AM

Worst part about the heat in T.O. is the stench of the city. Gonna be 32 in Cali today with little humidity.
I bet the dungeon on Atlantic feels like an oven!

JayDeeZee 07-21-2011 10:51 AM

It's not the heat, it's the stupidity!

Stench? Not sure where in Toronto you are referring to but there is no stench when I am or go.

I am from Buffalo and I am not whining. I might bitch if its 40 in a few days though. The weather swings around here make things interesting.

Mutt 07-21-2011 10:55 AM

somebody just did point out that it's July - this kind of heat wave in Ontario usually does strike in August.
