oh, and of course the thumb used there of dana with adjusted brightness/contrast and color levels is mine too, you can use that too for thumb preview tgps.

Funny thing is that i would have given him permission to use it if he only asked for it.

stealing a whole gallery layout is low, 'borrowing' a thumb isn't worth getting pissed about.

That's a ridiculous reason to rip off someone's gallery. You're a designer, you know how important your work is. How could you do that?

He asked me to do galleries for wow18,

I replied back saying yes, and asking for more info, content, etc.

Then he didn't get back to me.

The next day i check your site and see my gallery posted on your TGP, great i think. just out of curiosity i click on it and see it's hosted on another domain, ok good, he might want to save me some bandwidth maybe, i check the gallery closer and see it has alt tags, oh great, he even added alt tags and meta tags!, great.

Then wtf? he changed the ref code!

If you wanted to know how it did, you could have posted mine and i would even give you access to my stats to see 'how it does'.
Hell as i said earlier i would have just gave it to you if you asked for it before using it. a 2 lines email.

Definetely not the right way to do business in my book.

If so, It's not as bad as if he had stolen it, and then submitted it all over the place, it was only being done in 1 place.

How can anyone DEFEND this guy? He stole the gallery. Regarldess of whether he wants the guy to do a template for him or not.. you don't "borrow" somebodys designs to see if itll make you money.. Atleast you could have asked permission?

Heh you should buy 5 templates from him and give him a nice tip to make up for it. ;)

Drew - I always offer people a higher payout as its a better way to make long term cash, I'm not saying thats all I would offer him :)

I agree, I fucked up. I'm hoping he will contact me or give me a way to contact him so I can not only get some templates from him but give him the money that was made from the gallery.

Well sounds like this can all be worked out then. Atleast some people here can finally OWN up to their mistakes. :P

Btw Roberto, how much do you charge per gallery template? I may be needing a few made myself ;)

Jeff, thanks for showing up and tell your side of the story, i appreciate it.

You might understand now that i can't feel safe working with/for you since i don't know if it's going to happen again with 20 templates.

This template 'test' gave my a very bad first impression.

Who knows, maybe you acted in good faith, but there's no way for me to know what really happened.

No hard feelings, just a bit annoyed.

Sorry to hear that Roberto, but I can understand. Thinking back on the moment I don't know why I thought it would be okay to do that, hopefully we can do business in the future.

Shoot me an email with a way to send you the cash that was made off the gallery.

Jeff goofed up but I think it's good that he has owned up to the error. I will say that in the year (or more, less?) that I've known Jeff he's always been a really nice guy. Best of luck to everyone involved.
