What is the best chair for an affiliate manager?
Im looking at taking a new guy and want to outfit him with the best equipment possible.
Which chair do you suggest? :thumbsup |
have them stand up...better for them...more productive
|
I wouldn't be without my Aeron. I bought it years ago. Sure it's been surpassed now, but it was the best 1200 bucks I've spent!

I love my Aeron chair, but I'm curious about how a stand up desk would work out.

http://jimmy3way.com/images/desk.jpg Okay in my office I have a wall of bookcases, and a matching peninsula desk that sticks out from it. It's nice shit, cherry, from Copenhagen, cost me a pretty fucking penny so I didn't want to ditch it. I wanted to try out a stand up desk so I took the desktop off its base and went and got these stainless 40 inch steel table legs from Ikea for like, cheap, I dunno, $80. I skipped buying the table top. I assembled the base, flipped my desk over, used a collar bit to drill out pilot holes and screwed the base to it. |

Congrats on the expansion.
Did you recently add somebody, too? I swear I got an email from a name I have never seen. |
honestly I dont see any reason to buy a chair that costs more than a few hundred dollars. If you really want your affiliate manager hooked up buy him a flash enabled tablet with 3G or 4G connection so he can do simple parts of his job and be available more frequently during the day/night. That job really is kind of an 'on call' kind of thing and should definitely put in more than the 9 to 5 Mon-Fri thing IMHO

that's why I'm wondering what the big deal is, I'm sure you can get a nice comfy char for maybe 3-400 tops. |
About the chair, everybody is different. I just went into Office Depot and tried them all, buying the one I liked most. I'm the kind that prefers a big cushy executive back leather chair. Everybody is different. Let the guy go shopping for his own.

Want to treat him/her right get the Herman Miller Embody.... best task chair out there, better then the old Aeron imo.... once you sit in one you'll never want anything else ;)

I don't know about any expensive chairs but l have found that lots of adjustments are good for me. To avoid having my shoulders hunched up the visit beds to align correctly with the keyboard and mouse, for one thing.
|
Get him a piece of shit chair and tell him he can earn a good one :2 cents:

do you guys who stand at your desk work for 2 hours a day or what? I've worked jobs in machine shops years ago that had me standing all day and that caused a hell of a lot more pain than anything i have ever got from sitting... That's when I was young as well. I'd have 2 or 3 of those rubber 'cushion' standing mats stacked up and I would still get aches and pains in my back, knees and feet.

i tried a whole bunch of chairs before buying one just recently, including aeron and human scale, and finally settled on a steelcase leap. not the best looking chair, but imho the comfiest. check it out:
