Got my Spotify invite today.

Just installed it and am playing around with it. So far it looks pretty damn cool.

I'm not 100% sure how Grooveshark works, but this is basically like Rhapsody or Napster. You can search the database for songs, artists or albums and listen to individual tracks, full albums etc. you can make playlists and stuff like that. This will let you integrate the stuff on your computer into your playlists as well. All the music is streaming.

It seems like the main difference is that there is a free version that gives you a short commercial periodically. A commercial free version is $5 per month. So far I am trying the free version and it is cool. At this point I will likely get the $5 per moth option (there is a $10 version that will let you stream to your phone as well).

My one complaint so far is that a few times when it gets to the commercial it freezes up and I have to restart it to make it work.

I did this instead - http://diniphone.com/?p=107 . :2 cents:

I dumped it once they removed the free accounts. Back to MP3s for me.

Hmmm, I can do all that right now with the free online version of Grooveshark without the commercials. I just hit the site with all my playlists saved and start playing.

Grooveshark does look pretty cool. I hadn't been there before but this one looks pretty sweet. I'll have to play around with it.

Spotify is quite cool. I have had it for over a year, first the free version and now paid. But, I use another service that we have here that is better imo. But thing is, no service got ALL music so I need two to be covered :D Cost me like $20/month in total. Cheap I think, to have access to all that music wherever I am.

The other service I use (Wimp) have better GUI and better "News" section and they write more about the artists.

I pay for the premium spotify and use it daily. A great streaming music service!

Does Grooveshark stream to mobiles? Is there a mobile app for it at all?

I initially only looked at the website where there is nothing.

I'm an iPhone guy. No chance of an app on the non-jailbroken version anytime soon I'm afraid :)
